Have it towed to the dealer ASAP. Do not drive. What happened is your throttle stuck and disengaged your brakes you got lucky with this incident. Don't risk another one!!

Don't take chances with brake issues. All anyone here can do is guess what the problem might be. Get it to a dealer or a reputable mechanic - have it towed if you're afraid to drive it - and have it diagnosed and repaired.

SOURCE: Car Brakes

Check the fluid level first, if it is not low then you need a master cylinder kit. If it is low then look on the back side of each tire, it will be easy to find the leak.

SOURCE: I have a 1995 mercury sable. I've it for 5

The average life of a taurus or sable transaxles is a
surprising 65,000 miles, then you have to rebuild it
I only recently read that

In the early 1990's I owned a trans repair business
& over half my work was taurus & caravans
The rest was japanese

I can not see that being the original transaxle from
1995, but I wouldn't hold out hope of any type of
simple fix

There are non to my recall ,other than a cable on
the throttle body & I don't even know if they still exist

1993 mercury villager when diriving at speeds over 50 car will lose power and you have to play with gas peddle to get speed back up, than car will be ok for short time and do it again

Clean the MAF sensor with carb cleaner first. It's in the air intake tube, spray the tiny wires inside with carb cleaner to get varnish off heated wire. Do not touch or move them.

When on the freeway my villager slows itself down I'll be going 70 and it reduces to 55 or 60 quickly

possibly fuel pump failing. Also, clean MAF sensor gently with carb cleaner. 2 glass coated wires in air stream.

94 gmc 4x4 1500 overdrive sometimes works

Check for a transmission speed sensor fault (OBDII scan). Loss of speed sensor signal will result in no torque converter lock up, and no overdrive. Also transmission filter should have been changed at 80,000 miles. Age of your vehicle(1994) warrants the filter service. Transfer case (4WD) needs to be serviced as well.

Ran out of gas. after putting gas into my 93 mercury villager it would not start. please HELP

2 Suggestions:
Check the gas reset button located besides the parking brake pedal (red button), press it and try to turn it on.
Check with a mechanic if the gas pump still works (if you ran out of gas you could probably have damaged your gas pumpby overheating it)
