I was doing 65 down the freeway and my gas pedal felt different and i didnt need to touch it as the car was doing it all on its own, When i got off the freeway I couldnt get it to slow down when i hit the brakes they felt like rocks and wouldnt push down good thing there was no traffic coming because i managed to get it slowed enough to go thru the stop sign and around the corner, Now i am afraid to drive the car as 2 of my grand children were with me. Please help me.
Have it towed to the dealer ASAP. Do not drive. What happened is your throttle stuck and disengaged your brakes you got lucky with this incident. Don't risk another one!!
Don't take chances with brake issues. All anyone here can do is guess what the problem might be. Get it to a dealer or a reputable mechanic - have it towed if you're afraid to drive it - and have it diagnosed and repaired.

check the brake booster and vac supply to it. big hose on the booster.

Check the fluid level first, if it is not low then you need a master cylinder kit. If it is low then look on the back side of each tire, it will be easy to find the leak.
SOURCE: I have a 1995 mercury sable. I've it for 5
The average life of a taurus or sable transaxles is a
surprising 65,000 miles, then you have to rebuild it
I only recently read that
In the early 1990's I owned a trans repair business
& over half my work was taurus & caravans
The rest was japanese
I can not see that being the original transaxle from
1995, but I wouldn't hold out hope of any type of
simple fix
There are non to my recall ,other than a cable on
the throttle body & I don't even know if they still exist
almost sounds like the cruise control is engaging
