SOURCE: how do i remove the fan belt
The first job is to locate the tensioner pulley. It looks like a pulley that has an elbow that will rotate to release tension on the belt. (There will most likely be a picture diagram on the front of your engine under the hood or in your owners manual.) In the middle of the tensioner pulley there is a square insert that is the perfect size for the end of a regular sized socket wrench. Once you insert the wrench you will see how you can twist the wrench and the tensioner pulley along with it. This will allow you to slide the belt off the pulleys. Replace the same way stretching the belt over one of the top more easily accessible pulleys.
