I have a 2002 ford explorer that the passenger side front window will go down but not up. I replaced the regulator and motor and am still not getting 12v to the up side of the motor.I tried a new switch and that did not work either. Is there a separate power source for the up power?

Check fuses and wire harness to door for correct connection. Check on the fuse box cover as it will show a relay that can also be faulty.

make sure driver side power window master not lock out.problem could be power window motor regulator.

POWER WINDOWS NOT WORKING & POWER WINDOW/REGULATOR ISSUES

It can be issue with motor itself. If it's not going up, then how its working down. But still it feels like weak window motor or is issue with power window switch. Get the voltage tested at switch and motor. Also try another working window motor at not working window side.

You have to remove the inner door panel to
access the window regulator

You remove the regulator & then the motor from it

You Tube Video will provide a visual of several
similar window motor replacement jobs

Go there-- enter your car,question ,details,etc--- then move
around the site to watch various things

It can be issue with motor itself.If its not going up,then how its working down.But still it feels like weak window motor or is issue with power window switch.Get the voltage tested at switch and motor.Also try another working window motor at not working window side.

what has happened is the window motor has striped the teeth that moves the window up or down. you need to replace the window regulator. you can get this ordered at the parts store.it will come in a rather big box complete with the regulator and motor. once you get this repost and someone will instruct you how to install

You get the regulator cable (wire) assy,it broke where it attaches to window

You don't repair the cable. It is part of what is called the widow regulator. Call your parts store and check the prices. It will vary so call around. Some times you can order it without the motor, but often the cost with and without is not much different and it is better to get it as one unit.

Wil it work at the door switch or not at either switch? If not make sure you have power and ground to the motor in up and down positions. if so suspect the motor.Also the cable operated regulators break and will not let the window go up or down

You will first need to remove the door panel on the inside. Then you will need to remove the window glass from the track it rests in. Then you need to undo all the screws that attach the regulator inside the door. At the top of the door where the glass slides up and down remove the inner and outer window track guides. Then very carefully maneuver the regulator up and out the top of the door. Reverse the procedure to replace. It sounds easy, but you need to almost be double jointed to do this. So, have great patience while doing this task. Good luck.
