CANT GET ANY SPARK ON 14 HP BRIGGS AND STRATTION ENGINE

Just from sitting? Take the Spark Plug out and put half a small spray can of WD40 into it. Loosely put the spark plug in. After two days, remove the spark plug and turn the engine using the nut on one end of the crankshaft.

Other places it could be:
Camshaft
Valve Stems
Main bearings

Could be the wrong gasket or the timing is out slightly. Also sometimes the exhaust ( muffler ) needs to be changed. Try taking it off , disconnect the spark plug wires and see if it turns easier. If so then your problem lies there.

To start and run an engine needs compression, timing, the correct amount of fuel reaching the combustion chamber and a spark of sufficient power and quality.

That your engine does not start means one or more of those requirements is not being met but which one requires systematic checking.

Briggs and Stratton have long used a carb and fuel tank assembly where the fuel level is below the carb and must be pumped up by a vacuum operated diaphragm pump which it is wise to examine in the case of trouble.

they had a few engine capacities for them

this 2016 picture from australia has a toro 244.5 for sale
that has a briggs motor fitted

I cant find a 2016 " toro" contact about an engine for that model
I can only find starter and small parts not a complete motor

finding a new motor....... gee thats tough
if cant find source a rebuildable engine for it
might have to retro fit a honda or a briggs to keep it a runner

Make, model, engine, plug you're using, all info would help
Stores like Canadian tire that sell plugs usually have a chart telling what plug and gap are appropriate for what application.
If it's a 2 hp 1950 6 hp Briggs & Stratton, try 35 thou.
