4L light flashes in 05 rodeo 4x4 3.0 deisel

Hi, I have a 05 3ltr turbo deisel intercooled twincab. After driving through rain or a creek, the 4L light flashes constantly, it may take a couple of days to stop. It will still change through 2H, 4H and 4L no problems. It doesn't seem to have any other problem related to this one but is still very annoying.

    I have a 04 rodeo turbo diesel intercooled twincab 3 ltr. 4L on the dash flashes for days after driving through water or rain. 2H, 4H and 4L all work correctly but I cant tell from the dash because 4L flashing dominates. The little 4wd symbol doesn't eluminate either, while the 4L flashes. Where do I start looking for a solution? Does anyone else have a similar problem?

Check the hoses between the turbo to intercooler and on to inlet manifold. They split.. No boost, no go.

if it has an intercooler , that means that it has a turbo and 2 minutes idling after switch off is normal to allow the turbo to unwind and cool down

Why is my 4L light flashing?
using 4wd on dry pavement. 2003 Rodeo !
part time is for dirt or ice roads only.
so are you using 4L on pavement, yes, then dont if car is part time.
post your vin or tell what 4wd system you have.
do you have TOD option?, Torque on demand.
so do post what wheels (tires) are touching, in 4L.
if in 4L. now.
we cant guess road surfaces...
if attempting PT on dry roads, stop doing so.
or you will windup the driveline and damage it.


i cant find the options list on Rodeos. seems 2wd or part time.
here is how TOD works, and is totally different that PART TIME.

i think this is not an option for Rodeo. but specs are weak... IMO

4L and 4H lights flashes when you try to engage either of them in 05 Isuzu Rodeo
this is a part time 4wd, not AWD.
and as such must not be run on dry ice free pavement.
so post if car is on said pavement.
test 4wD in DIRT, does it work now, or not?
if you keep doing it on dry pavement this happens.

its not AWD, and has no CENTER differentiable gears.

Code Relates to turbo boost pressure presume your astra is a turbo deisel.
Tip replace the pipe from the bottom of the intercooler to the top of the engine with a silicon one as these deteriorate and leak causing the engine to go into limp mode due to reduced turbo boost pressure.

HI I have an 89 supra with a blown 3ltr turbo I would like to know if the 1jz twin turbo will fit on my 5 speed and will my inter cooler work with it do i need different engine mounts
yes the tranny will work and you need the 1j engine mounts as they are different. the 7mgte mounts will not allow the exhaust manifold to fit with the down pipe. your intercooler will work fine although i recommend replacement since you loose pressure if this is an original unit. hope this helps. please rate.

Sounds like you need an O2 sensor. You need to have it scanned, places like AutoZone will do this free of charge.
