here could be a few reasons why your climate control system is turning on by itself when the car is off:
HVAC module failure: The HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) module could be faulty and causing the system to turn on. This would need to be diagnosed and repaired by a professional mechanic.
Electrical issue: There may be an electrical issue in the climate control system that is causing it to turn on. This could be a problem with a relay or a wiring issue. A professional mechanic will be able to diagnose and repair this issue.
Remote start system: If your LeSabre is equipped with a remote start system, it could be triggering the climate control system. You should check your remote start system's manual for information on how to adjust or disable this feature.
Keyless entry: Some LeSabre models have a keyless entry system that can turn on the climate control system when the car is not in use. Check your owner's manual for information
Yes it does look like a Climate Control Module mode actuator problem. dismantle the climate control and check mode actuator are operating when juice is given to their terminals.
Most likely it is the climate control unit. Had the same issue with my 99 Regal, replaced the climate control unit and haven't had any issues since. Might try Digital Dash Solutions on eBay, they will ship you a refurb at1/3 price of buying from a dealer if they have one available. If not, they also have a climate control repair service. I'm not certain that they fix Pontiac products, but it wouldn't hurt to ask.
I had the same issue. It turned out to be an electrical issue with the central computer. It basically got shorted and I had to get it replaced. It ran me about 1300 to have fixed.
