How to reset the airbag light on a 2002 Hyundai Elantra?

Does anyone know how to reset the airbag light for a 2002 Hyundai Elantra? I've seen some discussion about disconnecting the negative battery cable for 20-30 minutes. I've also seen some procedures for other vehicles like turning the key to the on position but not starting the car and then pushing the door ajar sensor switch 7 times in rapid succession. Is there any procedure like this for the Elantra?

It may appear if there is a particular sensor fails.
Try stopping the indication using the following technique.
Sometimes the problem could be solved.

If you can get an OBD 2 scanner off eBay (US$ 6), you could be able to communicate with your car ECU (Electronic Control Unit) using the smart-phone app.

So that, there is a chance to CLEAR all the error indications.

After that, if problem still persists, it means the vehicle need full scan (you can't do this at home, probably seek a vehicle garage).

Is there anyway I can reset my air bag light on in my Hyundai Elantra 2005 as it won't pass inspection with the light on I'm hoping I can do this myself as I'm disabled an don't have any cash left

First have someone check the airbag system codes. The light will not stay out if there is a defect in the system. It's usually the drivers seat belt buckle or belt retractor switch.

My 2007 Elantra's airbag light stays on. The dealers says it's not part of the recall. How do I know that is correct?

Whether it is covered or not goes By the fault code that is present whenever the SRS system warning light is turned on. Airbags save lives, fix it and fight over who pays later. Keep the all the paper work and appeal to Hyundai to help pay the bill to fix it.

How do you reset airbag light for 2007 elantra

The airbag light is reset using a scan tool. most of these systems reset them selfs unless it sees a system failure on power up, the airbag system tests all components of the sirbag system every time you start car and if something is wrong it will leave light on, you will need to scan the computer for codes the codes will tell you what the problem is and with some testing the problem can be found.

The airbag light will not go off. Checked the fuses, tried clearing it by undoing the battery cables & it still won't go off! It won't even read on a machine. Does anyone have a solution for this...

It has to be reset by a scan tool, such as those at a shop or dealership. You can clear a lot of different codes by unhooking the battery, but not an airbag fault light.

1996 Hyundai Elantra airbag light won't go off.

SORRY TO SAY...NO

The airbag system is best left to a trained mechanic. You can easily destroy the system, or worse you can get seriously injured if you do not know what you are doing, and set off one of the air bags.

The air bag light can only be reset by a diagnostic CPU or the local dealer ship.

2002 Hyundai Elantra, airbag warning light stays on

Airbags can be as dangerous and deadly, as easily as they can save a life. The airbag warning light is telling you that your vehicle has no airbags at this time.

If you don't understand the total airbag system, it's best left to a professional. It's worth the expense to have operable airbags, rather than chance a collision without operable airbags. My suggestion to you is to let the dealer fix your system so it is guaranteed.

Air bag light stays on

If your airbag light comes on it means its not working. Some of the newer airbag systems have weight sensors under the seats and anything lodged under them can disable the passenger airbag and possibly cause the light to go on. If there are no other symptoms, and nothing impeding the airbags then the car thinks the airbag wont work. If you are concerned for your son's safety, take it to a qualified mechanic and have them check/replace your airbag. Good Luck!
