I have a 2002 isuzu rodeo that has no blower for the heat working in any settings. I already replaced the fan motor and am not sure if the resistor is bad. I need to know how to check the resistor and possibly how to remove control module with the switch that controls the fan motor.

I checked the fuses although I haven't checked the relay. I already know how to remove the resistor just not the part with the switch that controls the fan. Does anyone know how to tell if the resistor is bad?

I am assuming you checked the fuses for the ac /heater first as you mnever said anything about that.. the resistor block and switch removal can be printed out either by the parts store or dealer service..

SOURCE: 1997 isuzu rodeo problems with the blower motor

You can test the blower motor by connecting a positive and negetive wire directly to the 2 terminals on the motor.
As far as the resistor goes. If the blower motor only works on high fan speed then the resistor is bad. If it works on all speeds except high, then the relay is bad. Good luck. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Blower motor on 96 Isuzu Rodeo does not blow on

if fuses are good, check for power at blower motor, when truck is running and a/c on. the resistor and the switch provide ground, so the blue/white wire should have power, and the blue/black wire should have NO power, if it does have power, then most likely the resistor is bad. if it has no power and the motor doesnt run, the motor is bad.

I have only high speed on my ac/heat switch. have replace acdelco blower motor resistor 2 times already. works for a while and quits. whatelse do I need to check etc?.

If you have replaced the blower motor resistor block twice all ready, i would be replacing the blower motor itself. When the blower motor is drawing too much current it burns out resistors for lower fan speeds in resistor block, but doesnt blow fuse for fan. Also check for leaves and stuff in fan when removing fan.

My lever that controls the speed of the ac/heat blower quit working. Sometimes the fan won't come on at all, then if I leave it on it will come on on its on. The lever doesn't work it anymore. I have a...

The blower motor has a resistor attached to it that probably has gone bad. When you use the fan select switch, power is sent through one of the resistor channels to control the speed of the blower motor.

You can test to see if the resistor is completing the ground circuit by connecting a wire from ground and touching it on one of the resistor terminals. If the blower motor comes on, then the speed control switch may be bad ( or the wiring harness is not making the connection). If the blower doesn't kick on, then try touching the ground wire on the negative side of the motor. The motor should rotate. If not the motor is bad. If it does rotate, the resistor is bad.

1997 isuzu rodeo blower will not come on relay is good

replace blower motor and resistor at the same time to fix it. The motor may work and may have to much resistance and an old motor will burn up a new resistor.

The heater fan in my 2003 rodeo isn't blowing. I checked the two fuses 15A fuses under the hood and they look good. What else could it be? BTW this blower was replaced under warranty a few years ago.

The motor goes bad because leaves and such make their way down and clog it's air intake. Pick up a new one at your local auto parts store if you have to.

It's four screws on the motor housing, located under the glove box (2 screws) and the wiring is harnessed, so no sweat there.

While it's off, reach up into the cavity that feeds it air on the upper left.

You may want to wear a glove. The design on this generation Rodeo is horribly flawed. I pulled a squirrel-sized wad of rotten leaves and pine needles from mine after replacing the motor and resistor twice.

Like drinking a milkshake through a coffee stirrer, you know that's bad for a motor. I clean mine out every fall, before running the heat non-stop all winter.

Subject: 2004 isuzu rodeo...my ac/heater blower is not working

The resistors are in circuit only on the lower fan speed settings.
On the highest speed setting, power is switched directly to the fan motor.
Check fan power supply fuses,
Check power is available to the fan when high speed selected.
If all above OK, apply power directly to the motor to verify fan motor runs- if it doesn't the motor may need replacement/repair.
