I just hate it when you ask a simple question and someone says "read the manual"... If that's the only answer, just hang it up as an expert (in my opinion). The ANSWER is "Push and hold the Ambient (outside) Temperature button down while pressing the Temperature Down button. After several seconds the display will toggle." - An Amateur...
This answer is spot on. One thing that the Paul might not understand is that not every person buys a car new and not every vehicle manufacturer makes the purchase of an owners manual that simple. Also you do not need to know the engine size to answer a simple question like this.
Thanks junkemail56 .. Was having same problem and owners DOES NOT give the instruction on how to change it back .. ours is a 2005 Sonata

Read your Owner's Manual. If you don't have the owner's manual, buy one. If you don't want to buy one, then I need to know what YEAR and engine size is in your Santa Fe. If you don't respond to this request, then please DELETE it from this web site.
SOURCE: change from celsius to fahrenheit
Don't listen to 'nitrousaura' (what a maroon, as Bugs would say).
Anyway, the way to change between Celsius and Fahrenheit is to hold down both the 'Temp down' and the 'Amb' buttons for 5 seconds. Be sure to do the 'Temp down,' not the 'Fan down' like I tried the first time and had to call Kia back. :) The two buttons are on opposite sides of the display.

SOURCE: I cant figure out how to change my thermometer back from celcius to fahrenheit
Make sure that the odometer is set to miles and not kilometers. Hold the button down (while in the regular odometer setting, not the "trip odometer" setting) until it changes to miles. The temperature display will automatically change to fahrenheit. We just figured this out today.
If your temperature reads in climate control reads in degrees Celsius "C" instead of Fahrenheit "F", follow these steps to change to Fahrenheit.
The display should then change to "F". Follow these same steps to change your read-out to Celsius , if preferred.
