Yes, Just disconnect the Negative terminal for 10 minutes minimum and the system should reset. You can also get Autozone, Advance, or Oreilys to scan or reset the system with their scanner for FREE.

This isn't really enough information, but it sounds like the ground straps inside the engine compartment are causing this problem. The salt/age on the road will cause the connections to become corroded and then the car is "lighting up" all lights for indicators. Fix the grounds and then if you have the problem it may be a ailing computer control box, alternator or starter ground cable. If it is a Chrysler product you could have a belt tension part going!
you can start with an OBDII scan, which you can get for free at your local parts store. This will tell you what component is malfunctioning, and then you can decide if it's worth fixing or not. But rest assured, the oil leak has nothing to do with your check engine light.
i dont think it would be the computer did you check the fuses if its not the fuses follow the battery cables see if theres a relay on one of the cables or if your ground is bad
no not the computer when you get codes like that its something else first check your ground straps on the car and your battery make sure your connection are clean then reset you computer and see if that fixed it .
Ah, I see. You want to outsmart the computer? Right logic, wrong computer. I think the problem is not in the transmission, but it is the engine computer that has communicated with the transmission computer and put the car in limp-in mode. The fix engine light is sent from the engine computer, and this is the main computer in the car, the main drive train computer, if you will. The short answer is yes it will reset, by just unhooking the battery. Won't do any harm. Start it up about an hour later, and be sure and let it warm up to normal operating temperature (closed loop) before you take it out for a test drive. Otherwise you may be miles from home in 2nd gear limp-in mode again. The real fix is to talk to your car...like communicate with the computer and get those trouble codes read...talk to it nice, not the abrupt tone of the glaring idiot light, and maybe it will respond in a kinder, gentler easy to fix diagnostic code!!!! Good luck.
Did the service engine light come on? If so yes, anyone with an OBII scanner can reset the light. If service light didn't come on you should be good to go.
Yes you have to reset your cars computer diagnostics ,You do this by removing both cables from the battery wait a few seconds then put cables back on the battery and your done.....Hope that solves your problem
