I have a '89 Ford Ranger with a 5 speed manual transmission. What is the easiest way to put the shifter back in? It is a Mazda tranny.

If you look down in the top of the transmission where the shifter goes. You will see three parts. These parts are forks. There is a center slot in all three. The slots have to be lined up and in the center. This is neutral. Then the shifter can be installed.

The glove compartment on my 89 ford ranger is stuck and I cannot get it open, any suggestions ease

You should be able to unscrew the hinge at the bottom of the compartment door then get flashlight and long screwdriver and take the two screws out of the top latch in the inside. This will remove the door. Then you will have to see what is broken on the lock or release part of it.
