My 1993 ford f-150 is backfiring and hard to start

L have a 1993 ford f-150 i bought with 93,000 miles on it. it ran a little rough since day one.. i smelled gas really bad but i still drove it everyday short distance..it ran better when i drove it on the freeway doing 60 mph..if i drove it 30-40 mph it ran really rough jerking and stuff...then after about a month the truck didn't want to start all the time. (it seemed worse when it rained or when it was cloudy outside)..so i parked it for about 3 months and now that its warmed up outside i started it up and it acted like it wanted to stall out, so i gave it a little gas to keep it running and it backfired..so i let off of the gas and it stalled out ....the guy i bought it from told me that he had new plugs and wires put on it right before i bought it..i mean...i bought it off of a close friend of mine and i don't think he wanted to rip me off or something like that...actually, since i wanted the truck really bad he sold it to me for $2,000 when another co-worker offered him $2,300.....any help is greatly appreciated!

Sounds like your timing is off. Try having your timing reset. and new timing chain.

Replaced plugs and coil pack on 2001 ford taurus now car will not start

You will need to figure out if you have spark to the plugs, and if not- if you have voltage to the coil to proceed.

Just bought '93 sr5 4runner, 175,000 miles. seller said needed a tuneup. drove it home, ran a little rough, not bad, seems to lose power, sat for 2 days. started it today, left it run for about 15...

Could be a number of things. Might want to check the plugs, wires, cap and rotor. Could also be that your injectors are fouled. Heck, your timing belt could be off a tooth.

My f150 started running rough and lost power...i replaced the fuel fitler and it ran better....now its back doing the same thing but now when you give it gas it backfires.....

The fuel pressure is weak, this happens a lot,the fuel filter was restricted ,and stained the fuel pump, this is a common thing,on all makes and models, the fuel pump is in the tank.

2000 pontiac grand am gt turns over won't start

without acually seeing the car its hard to say but it sounds like the fuel pump is weak gm cars and trucks are touchy about fuel pressure if your off from the spec by as little as 1 or 2 pounds it wont start. it may start off the starting fluid and run but not start on its own. also try taking off the fuel filter and blowing through it and see if its plugged up this is a common cause of fuel pump failure.

Ran out of gas and now she won't run!

i would say that you have a bad fuel pump or if you have a carb on it the float inside the carb is stuck check these and i'm sure you will find it's one of these.
