After normal engine start up and driving for several minutes, the instrument cluster (right side - fuel econ, dist to empty, etc) flashes/flutters on/off and dims/brighens intermitantly, and then usually locks up in one display mode or goes blank. It then usually resumes normal operation after a few minutes, but can repeat the above malfunction later on for no apparent reason. The prior disabling problem with parking assist problem has not changed and the left side cluster display appears to operate normally. Any ideas as to cause and suggested fix?
SOURCE: 94 Lincoln TC engine stalls when slowing/stopping
Most common cause of stalling for Lincolns in that era is the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor). It regulates fuel mixture, idle speed etc. A bad TPS will usually act up in one of two ways:
As far as valve cover oil leak, it's a problem that should be addressed to keep oil from fouling your spark plugs but highly unlikely to be the cause of your stalling problem. Hope this answers your question. All the best.

I had to replace 4 different coils on my '02 LS before it finally stopped misfiring. After one code and coil replaced it would go to the next one. I had to replace them in this order, 2,3,7,8
When # 7 was misfiring it wouldn't even pull a code all of the time, the check engine light would come on one day then go off the next, really strange.

SOURCE: Why does my instrument cluster black out a lot?
Having the same problem with my 2001 Merc Cougar, When does it black out? While reving or randomly? Mine is while heavy accelerating. Could be over voltage at the charging system (alternator or regulator) or internal in the cluster. Get the alternator and batt tested first, ask for a load test, then try the cluster next.
