Flashing inst cluster

After normal engine start up and driving for several minutes, the instrument cluster (right side - fuel econ, dist to empty, etc) flashes/flutters on/off and dims/brighens intermitantly, and then usually locks up in one display mode or goes blank. It then usually resumes normal operation after a few minutes, but can repeat the above malfunction later on for no apparent reason. The prior disabling problem with parking assist problem has not changed and the left side cluster display appears to operate normally. Any ideas as to cause and suggested fix?

If all dash functions like speedometer, gas, etc. come and go, it sounds like you need a new modular. It is under hood on driverside by airfilter

SOURCE: 94 Lincoln TC engine stalls when slowing/stopping

Most common cause of stalling for Lincolns in that era is the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor). It regulates fuel mixture, idle speed etc. A bad TPS will usually act up in one of two ways:

  1. When cold, car continually stalls
  2. When warm, car stalls when slowing down (especially if AC is on)
As far as valve cover oil leak, it's a problem that should be addressed to keep oil from fouling your spark plugs but highly unlikely to be the cause of your stalling problem. Hope this answers your question. All the best.

SOURCE: 2005 lincoln ls going into etc failsafe mode

I had to replace 4 different coils on my '02 LS before it finally stopped misfiring. After one code and coil replaced it would go to the next one. I had to replace them in this order, 2,3,7,8

When # 7 was misfiring it wouldn't even pull a code all of the time, the check engine light would come on one day then go off the next, really strange.

SOURCE: Why does my instrument cluster black out a lot?

Having the same problem with my 2001 Merc Cougar, When does it black out? While reving or randomly? Mine is while heavy accelerating. Could be over voltage at the charging system (alternator or regulator) or internal in the cluster. Get the alternator and batt tested first, ask for a load test, then try the cluster next.

Where is the tpms reser button on a 2015 Toyota Venza awd

There's a button on the lower right on the instrument cluster, start the engine and hold the button down until the tpms light flashes 3 times. It will flash slowly after the third flash wait several minutes with the engne running then shut the engine off wait 1 minute then start the car and check the light. I've had to do this several times before it worked so be patient. If no reset let us know. I hope this helps. Take care. If you want to contact me use testimonial and it will show up in my email.

98 Oldsmobile Aurora There's a on my Dash it says information center and has the oil fuel speed all that it says low oil is there any way anybody knows how to reset that

Check your engine oil using the oil dipstick located on the engine - you need to add oil to the fill line as shown on the dipstick. You should have the oil replaced regularly (every 3-6 months) and keep your eye on the level if the engine is leaking oil underneath or burning a lot of it.

I have several questions: Number 1 the initial minutes of my premio (corona) D4 2-litre engine raves at above the 1500 rev per minute but eventually returns to less than 1000 after some minutes;...

George,
1) Yes It is normal for corona Engines to have that high rev when the engine is still cold. It automatically adjusts to the Normal Rev/min when the engine gets warm so don't worry about that.
2) The Buttons are use when you are running on road. PWR means Power meaning that you lock the car in gear Five while sprinting. MNL stands for manual transmission.
3) Econ tries to show you that you are using a higher gear like say 5, therefore your fuel consumption is now being economized and thus low consumption. Actually, its always good if you drive your car with that light on coz it saves on your fuel. It get on automatically.

Don't forget to vote my solution if it was of help to you.
