Already addressed the egine light. there was a list of problems. when i got car out the shop acceleration was still a problem. difficulty in picking up speed. often takes long time getting from 0 to ,say 20. hardly ever go pass 10, or 15 going up a hill. going down hill it will act somewhat right. it also lose speed then try to get some back but always a slow process.

CHECK THE PCV VALVE HOSE THAT CONNECTS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE THROTTLE BODY, THESE HOSES ARE KNOWN TO DETERIORATE AND ALLOW UNMETERED AIR TO ENTER THE COMBUSTION CHAMBER, WHEN THIS OCCURS THE OXYGEN SENSOR'S SIGNAL TELL THE PCM TO INCREASE THE PULSE WIDTH OF THE INJECTORS CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO ALMOST STALL.

it is located on top of the engine right below the air inlet tube at the base of the intake it is a black sensor on top of a silver housing where the distributor would normally be

You describe this as an acceleration problem however, if the car does throw a check engine light it should be recorded in system memory so it can be pulled by scanning with and OBDII scanner. It sounds as if the car is being starved for fuel on acceleration. Check the fuel lines for kinks as well as check the fuel pressure. The problem could be a faulty fuel pump that has yet to completely die.
SOURCE: i changed spark plugs and car still misfires and
i bet your spark plug wires are bad. Arching is occuring (when the spark doesnt get to the plug) Probably because of old cracked wires

A flashing light indicates that the engine is misfiring enough to damage the catalytic converter, this needs attention ASAP, otherwise after the misfiring is repaired, you will be buying a new catalytic converter, the damage may have already been done. as for the p1633 has the battery run low and you had to jump it off, or recharge the battery?
