I have a 2001 Volvo s80 that ran out of gas. Now, my car will not turn over and it seems like my battery is low. I put 3 gallons of gas in the tank, and when I tried to start it I see message that says "immobilizer see manual". I know this is alot of symptoms, but your input will help. Thank you...

I would disconnect the battery, then reconnect and have someone jump the car while trying to start. Seems like a safety error that shut your car off so your fuel pump wouldn't burn out.

Your immobilizer is enabled. Try locking/unlocking the doors with the remote five (5) times, this should remedy.

SOURCE: Car won't start

If there is a blinking car icon with an "X" over it. This icon means the Immobilizer has been activated and hence won't allow the car to start. It could be due to a bad SCU, Start Control Unit. The SCU is actually the ignition switch on these cars.
Most of the time it's triggered by the anti-theft system..You can try this trick i learned that the dealers won't tell you...try locking and unlocking of the doors five times with the remote to reset the immobilizer and see if this helps.
Good luck...i hope this helps...please take a minute to rate me a fixya.

The fuel pump which is located in the fuel tank beneath the back seat has gotten bad. Consider replacing it.

SOURCE: 1999 Volvo S80 T6, Starts blower on its own.

If you are talking about the thermo electric cooling fan, its operation is independent of the car's electical system. It is switched on and off by the engine temperature. When you park, the engine heat soaks upward to heat the thermostat turning the fan on. It will run until the engine cools down and the thermostat switches it off.

I ran out of gas in my 2000 alero. I put 3 gallons of gas in it and it still wont start

More than likely a failed fuel pump.. they really don't like to be low on fuel as that is what keeps them cool. Have someone crank the car while you slap the fuel tank and listen for the buzz of the pump.

Ran out of gas put in 4 gallons with injector cleaner car starts but will not go over 2miles per hour with petal to floor

You may need to replace the fuel pump and filter. Have the fuel pressure tested and let me know so I can advise on what to do next.

2000 volvo s80 ran out of gas put gas in but it wont start

Turn the key to full power (but do not crank the engine). You may hear a high pitched whine from behind you - that's the fuel pump running. Leave the key on for about five seconds, then turn it off for a minute. Turn the key on again for another five seconds, and off for a minute. Then turn the key on for five seconds, and then crank the engine.

If your car ran out of gas, you need to run the fuel pump this way to get fuel up to the engine again - all the lines from the tank to the engine are empty, so the pump needs to run to fill them.

If this doesn't work, it's possible that the fuel pump is vapor-locked and will have to be replaced. Some cars are more susceptible than others to this type of failure.

Sounds like air in fuel line. Purge fuel line. By "crank", do you mean engine spins but won't catch? Try starter fluid in intake.

Ran out of gas

Hi you need to change your fuel filter on your car as it is probably clogged with dirt as the car ran so low.
It is fitted under the car near the fuel tank.
Change your fuel filter first then check the fuel pump fuse as it may be blown as well if the pump was not able to pump fuel.
It should be a humming or hissing sound at the tank.
