SOURCE: location of speed sensor a for 99 dodge intrepid

The "Vehicle Speed Sensor" signal is generated by the transmisson output speed sensor. That is the one located at the rear of the case. It is externally mounted. That supplies "vehicle speed" info to the other On-Board Computers. The input turbine speed sensor is located just behind the bell housing area of the case. I believe the trans controller is the only module that needs that info. The Crank Position Sensor give engine RPM info and it is located on the bell housing near the engine block. I hope this helps.

SOURCE: Dodge Durango 1998 5.2L Output Speed Sensor code P0720 Location

Its in different locations depending on if its 2wd or 4wd. For 2wd its in front of the drice shaft or for 4wd its in the tranfer case, just look for a white shape like box with wires plugged into it and you need a socket to remove it, iam not sure how much it is to replace as the cost varies at different shops.

Your vehicle dose not have a maf sensor. They used a map sensor it is on the engine located under the front of the breater where it attaches to the engine.

I have a 1998 dodge caravan 3.3L fault codes p0500 p0700 p0720 p0715, how do I repair and replace sensors to pass smog test

Follow the links for each fault code.

P0700 Transmission Control System Malfunction
P0720 Output Speed Sensor Circuit Malfunction
P0715 sets when there is an error in the transmission's input speed sensor signal. On the front of the trans there is an input and output speed sensor that the trans controller looks at for shifting control.

While the code could have set because of a wiring or connection problem, it's almost surely the sensor. Input speed sensor failures are not uncommon.

The input speed sensor is mounted right on the front of the trans directly under where the cooler lines attach. It threads directly in and has a 1" hex for a socket for removal. If the wiring and connection look visibly ok then I would recommend replacing the sensor

I have a 2002 dodge stratus and when running I put it into gear but it won't move in reverse or drive. Also the speed sencer makes a weird noise when put into gear

You may have answered your own question. That weird noise may be either the trans speed sensor or the clutches in the trans. Get it ckd out ASAP . Ck the trans fluid (if automatic trans) (engine running/in park) fluid cherry pink or brownish/ burnt smell? If burnt trans needs help, may be late but only pro shop can help. GOOD LUCK, FRANK M

Trans code po 715 for 1998 dodge grand caravan

Hi
P0715 is for the transmission input speed sensor. This sensor is used for shifting control. It's mounted on the front of the trans, threaded in just under where the cooler lines meet the trans. It has a two wire electrical connector, and a 1" hex for a socket for removal.

This code could be caused by the sensor's wiring, but it's very likely to be the sensor itself and it will need to be replaced. This isn't an uncommon failure.

The input speed sensor runs less than $20 at a parts store and will be in stock at any parts store or dealer. It only takes a few minutes to replace.

I have a transmission code PO732, PO734, and PO733 on my 2002 Dodge Durango. What do these codes mean?

Those three codes point to shift solenoid and/or clutch problems according to the Dodge Service Manual

Find someone with a Chrysler scanner and monitor the trans speed sensors, preferably the input one, make sure there is a rpm readings on both when you drive the vehicle, if ok, do a 2nd gear clutch test, if failed, internal clutch failure, if ok, replace the trans solenoid pack, it has an internal failure

93 dodge intepid

Possibly failsafe.Have vehicle scanned for codes, repair codes. If no codes, drop trans pan and evaluate condition of the fluid and pan contents. Also have technician look at cvi's in the data stream of the scan tool.Cvi's are clutch volume indexes, and very good indicators of wear inside the trans. Many things can cause what you are experiencing, inlcuding, but not limited to,input or output speed sensors, solenoid block, transmission control module,or internal trans damage.
