Had my Renault Clio for 6months with no problems. Yesterday morning the radio/CD player didnt come on when i started the ignition as usual. None of the buttons are working and there is no display.
Also, the clock and temp are working fine but the display wont switch off when the engine does - its been lit up continuously for over 24 hours.
This all occured when the temperatures suddenly dropped to below -5 celcius - is there a connection? Will it go back to normal when the temperature rises or do i need to change a fuse or something?
I had the same problem twice.
Its a known fault with the Clio - the first time this happened (last year) they just reset the software at the garage to fix it - they gave me a new radio today with updated software (apparently). The dealer said they were ordering a shed load of new units in because of the bad weather,
It was all covered under the standard warranty.
A moisture might have caused a short in the radio to cause this. Get the radio removed by a technician and get it dried and then reinstall
