I have a 2004 Silverado with driver/passenger air control. When driving along the air conditioning on driver side of compartment turns to heat while the passenger side still blows cold air. If I turn off and restart the truck the air conditioning will work normally for a while and then do it all over again. Anyone know a fix for it?

SOURCE: 2004 Chevy Silverado AC is blowing warm air on passenger side.

You have dual zones that are controlled by temperature actuators the passenger side has lost its memory or has gone bad you can put it in self programming by disconnecting the battery for ten minutes then hook it back up start the truck turn the temperature control on but do not touch any other controls let it go thru the self programming for about 6 to 7 minutes then select your temperature you want if it still does not work properly you may have a bad actuator or a bad connection at the actuator

Hello and welcome. this is caused by a bad temp door actuator for the drivers temp door. you will need to replace the drivers temp door actuator. this is a electric motor that moves the temp door from cold to hot and hot to cold

2004 2500 6.0 Silverado ac blows HOT on alternate sides of vehicle while in Auto A/C mode.

Douglass, Your A/C may have lost it's programming, blend door actuator could be faulty or A/C could be low on refrigerant. You may have to take in and have a good Tech. diagnose and estimate repair.
Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

When air conditioner is turned on the drivers side blows cold air and passengers side blows hot air, rear dual air blows cold air in to back passengers area.

If your sure you're looking at the right motor, Then the door is broke. Dash and plenum have to come out to fix it. Not a cheap fix.

There is a damper that controls whether heat or cooling or somewhere between that is controlled by the temperature controls. A separate system is controlling the passenger side and the driver side heating and cooling. I hope this is still under warrantee. If not it might be a big job to diagnose whether the problem is in the heat and cool controller, the wiring or the damper device. I hope this helps.

I think you will find that the mechanical control which changes the air flow from cold-hot-aircon has come off. I'm not familiar with your particular vehicle but usually the dash lever control is connected to a wire or lever to each air duct. If one of these is not connected then the duct will stay in the position where it was at when the control wire. lever came off. A good place to start.

Just had this happen today to my 2007 silverado heat on the right side cold air on the left side. After engine was off 15 minutes and restarted heat was on both sides. I'm guessing a relay failed to open door to allow the heat to flow thus blowing cold air.will monitor diligently for a while.

The heater is only working on the passenger side in my 2005 impala. the driver side is blowing cold air. please help

Do you have dual zone heat and cooling controls?
If so......the drivers side air flow control unit on the heater assembly is not working.
It is mounted on the heater assembly and can usually be accessed through the glove compartment to change it.
The stepper motor on these units fails often.
This should be the problem on your car 99%...if you have a separate heat/cooling control for driver and passenger areas.

Heater only works on passenger side.

there is a motor actuator that moves these doors for hot and cold, two separate ones for either side. the motor unit for drivers side is no good and needs new one. replace this and all will be good.
