2009 Chevy Aveo. Can a faulty o2 sensor stop the car from shifting into gears

o2 sensors are purely there to meter the fuel / air into the engine based on throttle position. You need an auto electrician with a pro grade scan tool computer.

I have a 2009 chevy aveo, all lights are working except the speedometer and gear shift

If your speedometer stopped working and stays at 0 MPH, you should have your car checked ASAP. The most common causes of a speedometer that stopped working include are a faulty speed sensor, a broken gear on the speedometer, damaged wiring, or a faulty engine control unit.

Why is no.1 plug sooting up?

If it's only one cylinder then not likely a MAF or EGR.

More likely a fuel injector or poor compression.

Year, make, model, and mileage?

2009 chevy aveo ac problems

If the system is running right, a quick check is to see if the cold side of the compressor lines are sweating/condensation. Then most likely the system is good. The A/C filter, called a dryer, isn't changed unless you have a catastrophic compressor failure, ie lots of metal in the lines. The cabin air filter has nothing to do with the A/C system. Assuming you have a good system and not getting cool air inside the cabin. The blend door motor is bad or it could be just unplugged. These are usually locate under the dash, in front of the console, on the drivers side. Some times on the passenger side. I do many makes and models of cars, So I can't tell you exactly where yours is. Hope this helps.

09 aveo dtc p0106 map sensor performance my car won't idle

most likely there is an issue with the air intake, such as a leak or poorly installed intake. What causes the P0106 code? The MAP circuit for range and performance problem may have several causes:
  • The source of the problem is that the MAP sensor range voltage output is incorrect and out of the programmed input required by the ECU.
  • The most common problem is an air intake system vacuum or intake hose being loose, cracked, or missing it's plastic fittings and clamps.
  • The wiring or MAP sensor may be bad, brittle, cracked, have a bad connection, or could be too close to the higher voltage consumption components, especially alternators, ignition wires, etc. A poor electrical ground can cause problems also.
  • The sensor itself may simply be operating out of range from fatigue in it's internal components.
  • MAP sensors must operate within specific ranges to send correct signals for the ECU to coordinate with the throttle position sensor and adjust correctly for proper engine operation.
  • If the engine is not in good condition, is missing, has poor fuel pressure, or there is an internal issue with the engine like a burned valve, it can prevent the MAP sensor from getting a correct output.
  • The ECU could also be bad but that is rare.
What are the symptoms of the P0106 code? P0106 code will be generally preceded by the Check Engine Light coming on the dashboard display. The vehicle in most cases will not run well, idle poorly, accelerate erratically, run rich, and backfire because the MAP sensor and throttle position sensor will not operate together properly. How does a mechanic diagnose the P0106 code? P0106 is diagnosed with an OBD- II scanner. A qualified technician should then reset the OBD- II fault codes and perform a road test of the vehicle to see if the code comes back. He can observe this by watching live data streaming on his scanner while driving. If the code comes back, then the mechanic will need to do a close inspection to see if the vacuum line and other hoses on the intake system are missing, loose, damaged, or disconnected. If these things appear to be correct, the technician should do a voltage output test on the sensor while the engine is running to determine if the output voltages fluctuate with engine speed and load on the engine. Check that all grounds are operating correctly, since any ground related to the ECU could cause signal fluctuations from sensors. Common mistakes when diagnosing the P0106 code. Diagnostic errors are largely due to not following the proper procedure. First, follow the test procedure in the diagnosis to insure there is no intake air leak like a bad vacuum hose or connection. The technician must verify that the voltage output of the MAP sensor is correct and fluctuates with the engine speed and proper voltage. Idle voltage is normally 1 to 1.5 volts and full throttle is usually around 4.5 volts. Do not buy a new MAP Sensor or ECU unless it is clearly at fault.

09 chevy aveo ac not working. recharged system . the enginge cooling fan isnt running when ac is turned on

I don't know what testing you have done? Any applicable hvac trouble codes? Note the diagram, is the compressor clutch energized? In the diagram, top wire for compressor clutch is voltage. The bottom wire is ground. Check voltage and ground with everything turned on, use a test lite. There are fuses involved, also. Could be problem with pressure switch? hvac-ar43dwmytflzpd0bj15d5alo-3-0.jpg

2009 chevy aveo clutch interlock switch, everyone says should be 2 wires i see 3?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8WjDMXCkjIw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xsfuFcMqvjM You might try calling a auto parts house and ask if the replacement part for your car has two or three contacts points. on the switch. Could it be when you push the clutch the position switch has 2 wires from one contact which goes to different places. Link below Aveo has 3 wires https://www.aveoforum.com/forum/f108/help-clutch-start-sensor-11302/

After driving for a few miles, especially when it is feeling like it is bogging down, get out and feel of the wheel hubs. You might have a brake hanging up.

I HAD ONE IN FOR REPAIRS, AND FROM FACTORY, FENDER WAS PAINTED AND BOLTNOT CLEAN BUT DARK-GREYISH. REPLACED BOLT AFTER SCUFFING UP FENDER AND CABLE-END AND THREADED HOLE AND PUTTING ELEC. 2009 chevy aveo parasitic draw

CONNECT TESTLIGHT BETWEEN NEG. BATTERY CABLE AND BATTERY NEGATIVE, WITH BATTERY NEGATIVE DISCONNECTED. MAKE SURE DOORS ARE CLOSED, KEY OFF, LIGHTS OFF, ETC. ELECTRICAL DRAW WILL LIGHT UP TESTLIGHT WELL. CAREFULLY REMOVE FUSES, ONE AT A TIME WHILE WATCHING LIGHT.WHEN LIGHT GOES OUT OR DIMS, THAT IS THE SYSTEM.BE SURE TO REPLACE FUSES AFTER REMOVAL UNTIL YOU FIND THE ONE THAT AFFECTS LIGHT! NOW YOU CAN UNPLUG INDIVIDUAL COMPONANTS AND CONNECTORS UNTIL CULPRIT IS NARROWED DOWN, BE CAREFUL BECAUSE WIRES ON THESE ARE NOTORIOUSLY FLIMSY, AND BE SURE TO CHECK FOR A WIRE WITH A HOLE RUBBED IN THE INSULATION.
