My 2003 dodge durango keeps over heating along with a very loud screeching noise when i drive
As for noise will have to inspect under hood,could be fan or belt or pulley ,water pump .these are some things it could...My suggestion for overheating is replace thermostat. If your car has electric cooling fan then it may not be working..turn defrost on and if fan kicks on then fan motor is good..Now this does not mean that fan is working properly because fan is controlled by heat sensor switch that kicks fan on when motor reaches heat range......Things i would have checked....hope this information helps and good luck and Please rate my post...

Misalignment of the belt, incorrect belt, worn or loose tensioner, Too tight of an adjustment (many service centers do this on purpose so when the belt breaks in it becomes properly adjusted, I do not believe in this philosophy), The belt is actually one long belt called a serpentine belt.....

There are several things you should know;
1. Power steering belt, when you make a turn, sometimes make noise, because your car needs power steering oil,=transmission oil.
2. when you turn on AC then you can hear a loud noise, you must check AC compasser,If the head wheel frozen, it will make a lot noise, that you have to fix your AC compasser.
3.check these two first, if both ok. shot some wd40 or lubricate see if it's work.
Hope this can help you

Belts stretch from new. Try to tighten them again. Hopefully the are not glazed or this may stay with you.

i had the same problem, i dont remember the name of the piece but its mounted right in between the driver side headlight and the radiator. its a relay that turns the fans on when the car gets hot. its mounted on the body of the car. there should be wires leading from the radiator to the piece im talking about.... good luck I also paid about 35 dollars for the piece

From what you are describing it sounds like it must be a valve lifter sticking. Try putting a cup of transmission oil in your crankcase, or pick up some suitable additive from your local parts store. I wish i could hear it and give you a better idea. Maybe let them listen to it at the parts store, and they can determine if it's a lifter or not. Let me know how you make out.
