As with any no start - stall problem, you need to figure out if you are loosing fuel to the injectors or spark to the plugs when it quits.
Is the check engine light on when you are driving ?

Ck engine light not on,but motor shuts off periodically ,today shut down driving several times, motorran rough and exaust smelled bad,hr later fine

run fault codes for recorded faults that are giving you these problems. Do not disregard an engine light and continue as it is there to let you know that serious engine/ gear box is about to happen and that can be a costly mistake to make.

Why does my 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe stalls in cold weather randomly

Vehicle batteries tend to die during cold weather months since more amperage(power) is required to turn over the engine.

Periodic stall issue. All guages go to zero,

Sounds like an intermittent short in the wire harness or ECU(computer).
If you can locate the computer(in the passenger side kickpanel), try
tapping on it with a plastic handled screwdriver handle, to see if the car
suddenly shuts down? If it does, your computer is shot. Good luck.

While driving suddenly gear was free. then engine was shut off. restart engine again, then gear working. its continully happen.

most likely the engine is already shut off but because of the speed while it's slowing down there is a rev down period ( no pedal respond )

97 olds 88 check engine light on car stalls periodically

when you say stalls, do you mean shut off of just get low on power?

my check engine light comes on and then oil press light come on and the car shuts off but the lights and music stayed on.
if its that the car needs oil and shuts down to protect itself but it will turn on minutes later.

if stalls periodically, shows check engine light and the car looses a bit of power, in the engine, :

1. your coolant may be having problems getting to the engine in the way it was met to get to the engine

2. the belt might be a bit off and that could be why you get the slipping feeling

3. your exhaust may be a bit clogged. or your engine may need cleaning

i had both problems my car shut off and my engine was slipping. my EXPENSIVE but great machanic found out it was my oil level and my coolant was rusty and not getting to the engine. now she drives like the original 97 olds 88

Difficult to start again after warm up engine.

give the engine a minute or two to cool down before turning it off. This cool down period allows oil to circulate and cool down the bearings in the turbo. If you shut off the engine immediately after hard driving, the oil can gum up around the hot bearings and create problems down the road.
Hope this helps

Engine shutting down

check fuel filter.
Fuel Filter
The fuel filter should be replaced regularly. Its performance is reduced by dirt and water collected over an extended period of use.
Replace as required.
