I probley should have that this happens only between the speeds 40 to 65 and it is not continus.
Rough payment does not seem to have any efect on the problem.
Letting off of the gas seems to trigger it some.
Thanks for your help. You could be right about the CV joints as they have not been checked..

It might be a bad c/v shaft. The internal bearings of one of the shafts could be binding. I hope this helps.

Mostly caused by wheel imbalance though sometimes not...

Some tyres/wheels although "balanced" do not run true and will not provide a smooth ride.

Worn steering, shocks or bad alignment can cause or aggravate such problems, as can semi-seized brakes.

I suggest you have the wheels rebalanced and if it doesn't cure the problem have a thorough A-Z inspection. If nothing is found it might be a case to have the wheels balanced on the vehicle.

Check your ball joints. also, if the tires are somewhat worn many times they won't have enough rotating mass to overcome side harmonics and can shake but most oftern the joints are worn. No play is acceptable there.

Steering wheel trembling when driving at speed 60 to 80 km per hour.

Hello. Welcome to FixYa.

Steering wheel tremble, or shaking, can usually be attributed to the fornt tires being out of balance, or, the tires themselves may be out of round, or, a rim could be bent.

I would suggest that you take the vehicle to a tire shop, and get the front tires spun-balanced. During that procedure, the tech will see if the balance is incorrect, the rim is bent, or if the tire is out of round.

Even if you have 'new' tires, an internal issue inside the tire could be the culprit.

Your best course of action is to get it to a tire shop, and get the above items checked out.

Thanks for choosing FixYa for assistance today.

2000 ford exploorer v-8 awd eddie bauer edition new wheels and tires new ball joints new tierods new shocks 3 front front end alignments started having a vibration in the front end at about 70+ mph had the...

Hello, I see you may a lot of changes and replaced a lot of parts. We leased an Explorer the same Year as yours. In our case there was a slight noise as well as vibration. The problem was the Front Hub bearings, They were bad at 18000 miles.

There are a few things I want to suggest. The spinning of the wheels on the lift will not load the bearings. A Dyno table can get everything turning with a load on it. As your vehicle is a 4x4, most Dyno's were 2 wheelers. You would have to call to find one for a 4x4.

Next, if the new Hubs do not help, have a look at the rotors. They are also balanced. You can spin balance the Wheel and rotor as a unit with a floor motor. It's not the best way to Balance because tire rotation or even shifting the Wheel on the lugs will UNbalance it. But this method CAN pinpoint a problem if a Balanced tire does not spin true when bolted to the vehicle. You will know the Rotor is off-balance and which axle is causing the problem.

Would be interested to see a Post of what you found.

1992 jeep shimmies badly at around 55

Just as a precaution, have the front suspension checked. It is most likely that the front wheels need to be balanced. Double check for abnormalities such as bubbles and seperation of the tread. Usually though if the tires were seperated, they would make an appearance at low speeds. Good news! Also if the shocks have not been replaced in the last few years, it would be very advisable. It will aslo help with tire wear.

FRONT TIRE BOUNCE AT 40-50 MPH

relace your shocks. the design of any dampner(strut or shock design) is to return the wheel to the road for handling and safety. when the shock is worn out is with continue to bounce like a basketball. it has no more strength to return to wheel to the road. a common misconception is that they are there to absorb, not true. the springs or torsion bars are there to absorb and create ride height. the shock does nothing more then return the wheel to the road. simple and inexpensive.

Steering wheel vibrations

It could be worn starting parts, Not ballanced wheel, and broken or worn struts. Start with the wheel getting ballance and go from there if there was no problems before your got the new tires put on.
