SOURCE: Where is starter located on 2004 chrysler

Look around the "back" of the engine beside the transmission. The Starter connects to the flywheel to start the engine.
If you are replacing the starter you may want to consider doing this first;
) Have the charging system checked. Many auto parts stores and Sears will do this for free.
) Clean the battery terminal/connectors.
) Check the wiring from the battery to make sure it's good.

If you replace the starter yourself;
) Does your car have an anti-thief alarm ? If so find how to reset it if the battery is disconnected. Some alarms will shut down the car if the battery is disconnected !!
) DISCONNECT THE BATTERY.
) Disconnct the wiring to the starter.
) Remove the bolts holding the starter. Remove the harder one to reach first.
) Pull out the old starter.
) Put it the new starter.
) Bolt the new starter in. Put the easier bolt to reach first.
) Connect the wiring to the new starter.
) Re-connect the battery.
) If necessary reset the thief alarm.
) Take the old starter back for a core charge refund.

SOURCE: Check Engine Light

If the light isn't flashing, it is safe to drive. If it is flashing, then catalytic converter damage can result. Have a parts store check the codes for you and come back and post the code.

SOURCE: 2004 chrysler pacifica

It is for an oil change mainly and any other service your maintenance manual suggests at the mileage interval. It needs to be reset after each oil change to be accurate.

SOURCE: 2004 chrysler pacifica check engine light code

The codes are both evap system codes. The only good way to find the leaks is to take it to a shop that has a smoke machine. They will pump smoke into the evap system to find the leak.

Locating the fusible link on a 2004 chrysler pacifica

A fusible link is a special wire that acts like a fuse - burning in two if the amperage load on the circuit is too high. It is not likely the wire would work sometimes and not others.
Someone would need to check to see if the starter has battery power and power from the key which goes thru the neutral safety switch.
I'd have to see it to know what was changed.

My 2004 Pacifica won't start

Connect a jumper cable from negative on the battery and the other end to the engine block. If it starts look for a broken ground wire under air cleaner box from engine to motor mount or directly in the center front of the engine. The ground in front has a wire attached to it.
Good luck

2004 chrysler pacific will start sometimes but sometimes won't

I would suspect the fuel pump is the problem, it may be sticking at times and this causes a no start. The pump is located inside the fuel tank and it is electric.

A good read. That car is only 6 years old... I would say bye bye to Chrysler forever.

neutral run relay ? no such thing . park neutral safety switch on the transmission , have B+ voltage on one side if the switch is in park or neutral B+ voltage will pass through to the PCM - engine computer . If the PCM see's this B+ input it will energize the starter notor relay located in the under hood fuse / relay box . This will send B+ voltage to the S terminal on the starter solenoid . If you hear a click under the hood , an it is the starter solenoid . You could have a bad starter , or a voltage drop in the cables or battery connections . Doing a voltage drop test on the starting circuit is the thing to do first . Starter Voltage Drop You can find the starter 07 Chrysler Pacifica AWD 4 0 starter replacement yours is in the same place

Car won't crank & makes a clicking noise when ignition is turned.

Is this the original battery? Have u had it tested? The no crank, clicking noise is classic dead battery symptoms, lights can still work, but not enough power to turn engine over. If it's the original battery, it's at the end of it's life cycle, and should be replaced. U can get the battery tested for free at any parts store.
