Car misfires after warm up when driving.

It will not go above 5k rpm and gets worse to about 3k rpm. rpm needle will bounce at whatever rpm it can reach. Bad ckp? does the flywheel need to be aligned to tdc? could not find an alignment on flywheel. i did have a code for the cam sensor but it ran fine before the clutch was changed. put a timing light on it and it seemed to have good timing. air passages are clear, good vaccume

Did you try rotating the CAS input shaft? Remember that the cams spin at half the speed of the crank, so a full spin of the CAS is actually 720 degrees. It could be that the CAS is 360 degrees out of phase and causing the car not to run properly. Unbolt it and remove it carefully. Rotate the input shaft (the part that mates with the cam) 360 degrees and put it back on, and see if that helps.

Also, just making sure, when you double-checked the cam timing marks, you did verify that in addition to the four cam sprockets being aligned properly, the crank timing mark is also aligned correctly, right?

The injector could definitely trigger a misfire code, but you also mentioned that you had a mass airflow sensor code , that code code be responsible for te sluggish moment of the vehicle and rpm going up and down. However if you have a misfire onCyl#6 and the coil and the plug is good the ONLY other thing to cause a mis-fire would be the injector. To check the injector get a NOID light, you can get one at almost any auto-parts place. To use unplug injector plug from the bad injector and connect it to NOID light the light should have a steady PULSE/ligt flickering. If light flickers fine then injector is bad and will need to be replaced. If light doesn't flicker or flickers intermittently then you may have a bad wiring to that injector. Check if wiring is good, then you may have a bad cam sensor or sensor gear. Good Luck and contact if you need more help. Thanks for using FIX YA

check your engine vacuum pull off a line near you egr port ..egrs get clogged as well ...test your vacuum you need to be steady close reading near 14in hg
next your oxy sensor could be working but slow leaning out your injectors and also understand that a voltmeter can test your sensors now do not forget about plenum or intake leaks ...if your car has an idle control valve it can be malfunctioning i usually only see them go bad in cadillacs though..

in some cases if the ther is not enough free play in the clutch pedel as the engine area heats up things will expand in this case the distance of freeplay in your clutch pedel. have your clutch pedel freeplay adjusted. Also it is recomeded NOT to resurface the flywheels on nissans It dose change the hight and the distance for where the fingers of the pressure plate and the release bearing flang contact

I have a 2001 Toyota MR2 Spyder with only 55,000 miles. It is completely stock, no mods. Recently it has lost much power and has a rattling noise above 3k rpm. Also it won't rev past 5k. Any ideas?

Get ECU error codes read at your favorite auto parts store (ask nicely). That should give you a starting point. This is the first thing a dealer would do.

I have a 2008 mercury Milan with nearly 60k miles on it. When I come to a stop the rpm drops by 1000 then recovers quickly. What should I do to fix the problem? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I have a ticking noise i was told it may be a loose rocker arm or a rod bearing... really hope its a rocker arm. but it get worse when the motor warms up, and only ticks in mid rpms when in high rpm the...

One thing you should get checked is the oil pressure.You could have an oil pump that is going out or getting weak.Also depending on how regular you are with your oil changes it is possible that you could have a sticky lifter.The oil pressure at idle should be 4 psi and 25-80 psi at 3k rpm.If it is less than 4 psi at idle do not do the 3k rpm.This is check with a warm engine.(normal operating temp).Hope this helps.Good luck.

99 A4 has very little power above 3K and idle bounces & rattles

sounds like a clogged exhaust system , from the outside of the car does the rattle sound like it is coming from the convertor or muffler? if so run an exhaust system back pressure test via a oxygen sensor port or drop the exhaust and run car with open exhaust and see if the power comes back. doing this will likely set a dtc so be prepared to clear codes after test.
