Check the bulb first, be aware that the newer bulbs fit into a slot that has very thin contacts in them, and the ones on the bulb are the same size, if you try a new bulb, make sure the lights are all off, if it doesn't work, and very gently pry that wire out from the plastic that houses it,, at times they get smashed in there and won't make contact

Check your Tailight fuse to see if it's blown, if so then start checking for a bad bulb(shorted element) in tailight circuit boards . and also don't forget to check grounds as well, there should be one at rear frame by left (drivers Side) tailight connection/trailer harness connection. hope this helps. do your Brake lights Work ?

Check the socket for power (with a 12 volt test light probe) to the pin that operates the running light bulb filiment, use the other tailight for a guide or just touch all the pins, one should light the test light up

1990 silverado right tail light unit out

get a test light and check for power and ground at the tailight circuit board, and then also check connector at drivers side by back bumper where main wire harness connection is and trailer light harness plugs in , check for power there too, probably a bad corroded connection and or circuit board bad at right tailight.

When I turn my lights on my tail lights work but when I hit my brakes the don't light up I have a 2001 vw beetle????

the brake lights don't light up or the taillights don't light up? the brake lights are brighter than the tailights so the tailights won't show up whenbrakes are applied. if no lights work when brakes are applied then check for a bad ground at the light assembly.

Only one tailight works. replaced bulb. brake lights work turn signals work driver side tailight works no tailight on passenger side.

i think you'll find with a test light at the tail light connector, that the you do have power but the problem is the unit that holds the bulbs and is a printed circuit is bad
