I have same problem. Below are a couple of suggestions from LincolnOnLine.com on how to close the sunroof manually. The first relates to a '93 and I'm not sure about the second. Use this info at your own risk. If you get a better answer, PLEASE POST IT HERE FOR ME. Thanks. Mort

Here is the text from my 93 Manual. There is an access panel in the rear centre of the headliner if it is the same as my 93.

Manual Operation

To close the sliding panel manually, remove the roof access hole trim panel located at the rear of the moon roof assembly. Remove the motor and bracket assembly as outlined to expose the splined shaft of the moon roof drive gear box. Using a typical corporate door window regulator crank handle properly set on the splined shaft, crank the moon roof panel closed.

Motor

CAUTION:
It is recommended that the battery ground cable be disconnected when removing or installing the moon roof motor assembly.

Removal and Installation

1. Operate glass panel until rear of glass panel is flush with sheet metal surface.

2. Remove motor access cover.

3. Remove two motor retaining screws.

4. Lower motor away from splined motor gear and disconnect electrical connector.

5. To install, reverse Removal procedure and synchronize motor as outlined under Adjustments.

Good Luck! __________________

Moonroof Woes Thanks for the moonroof help. I might be getting a switch in the a.m. If not that remedy doesn't sound too bad. My sunroof on my 2001 nissan maxima will not close

Well there are only three things at work here. The switch ( which I suspect) , power ( could be a fuse ) which I would check first . Then the motor . The motor could have went bad but I think you have a bad switch or no power to it. Make sure you have voltage to your switch or to the motor . Sometimes companies use ground for the switch instead of 12 volts. You could just put 12 volts to motor to see if you get a response if not then it's the motor but I doubt the motor is bad , motors usually die slow . Check the fuse and then the switch ( bypass the switch by jumping a wire from where it comes in to where it's going out) be carful as always making sure you are insulated from the voltage applied. Good Luck !

Sunroof stuck open

check the fuse. then check the switch with an ohm meter see if it has resistance when you press the switch up or down. check for power to the switch and motor with a test light, possible tap on the sunroof motor to unfreeze it.

Maybe a bad contact in the switch. Spray some electrical parts cleaner in the switch or replace the switch.

I cant close my sunroof and i think it is the switch

This vehicle sunroof can travel past its open point and gets stuck. you can lower the headliner and insert an hex key and crank the glass forward one inch then it will work again. Just don't let it go to far open or it can get stuck again. Also check the drain tray to make sure it is not out of place, if so you need new guides.

Sunroof will not close

If the motor is stuck, you can probably hold the switch to the forward position, and smack the roof. This may allow the motor to start working. I don't think there is any way to do it manually.
