I had a mechanic change my timing chains and cam phasers on my 2004 f150 5.4 eng and only drove 1 mile and engine is seized up ? Did he do something wrong?

Take it straight back and let him check it out sound like tensioner over tight.

My truck won't come out of 4 wheel drive unless I stop and back up. Any suggestions?

Check for tire size mismatch, that can cause driveline windup. Also check for IWE (integrated wheel end) vacuum leaking or bladder rupture. IWE solenoid shorted or broken vacuum line. The 4X4 hubs are set to be engaged by default and engine vacuum pulls them off, or disconnects them.

When I got in to start my 2004 Ford F-150 it turned over a couple times, then nothing. Boosted it off still nothing. What could the problem be?

Have someone turn the key to start position several times while you listen for a clicking sound coming from the relay that provides power to the starter. If no sound, the relay or primary solenoid may be bad. you can hear the relay/solenoid clicking, then you will have to check the solenoid on the starter to see if the wire is still on there or the starter may be bad. Take the starter off and have a parts store check it. I hope this helps you resolve you problem

Reattahed the side step

When you say the bolts are still there... does that mean the portion of the board rusted out that the bolts fastened to?? And is it tube or flat step? Since someone will be placing ALL their weight on this i would recommend either getting it rewelded by a pro, reinforce the CRAP outta it or just check out a replacement. Last thing you want is someone sliding under the truck in ice and water with broken pieces of metal slicing up... sorry it\'s likely not what you want to hear but safety must always prevail.

Ran out of gas, and won't start

May need 20% fuel load, in tank, for it to start Until you have that, the PCM (computer) will not allow it to start, maybe You could try clearing any codes or data & see if that works If you run it out, you can also ruin the fuel pump The pump needs fuel to lube it,as odd as that seems

At 1200 RPMs my engine wants to die. At 1500 and up runs fine.

I would suggest a specific order, first, check for vacuum leaks especially at the PCV and the hoses connecting. Then clean the Mass Air Flow sensor, after these easy things it gets more difficult with the plug connectors, plugs and coils.
