Howling noise while driving

That could be anything from tires to differential or even a driveshaft carrier bearing on your Vette. The best thing to do is to see if it will make the noise while running it on a lift. If it does not, then the noise is most likely tire-related. If it does, then you can use a mechanic's stethescope to determine the source of the noise.

It can be loose battery connection or loose battery to starter connection. Disconnect negative battery terminal for 5 minutes and reconnect and check. Also check both battery to starter connections.------- Also check, is the fuel pump starting, when you turn over the car .It can be shorted fuel pump relay, in engine compartment fuse box under hood.----------- Also there are many other possibilities too.Click this link below for more troubleshooting:---

My 96 corvette runs hot,fan wont kick on,i have to

Recently had a camaro with the same issue. What I found was the fan itself causing the issue. It was creating so much resistance at the fan motor that the only time it would function is if it was forced to hi-speed by turning the air on. The different speeds hi-lo operate at different voltages. Would check this out and let me know me know if this helps.

I have a 1996 Corvette.

96 is OBD II so you need to have the ECM scanned-any commercial parts store will do it for nothing, and all ou need is the actual code (IE 'P0171") and come back here for assistance.

1996 corrvette cooling fans do not come on unless

sounds like the cooling fan isn`t coming on when its suppose to.if you have 2 fans on the car then the one that comes with the a/c only works with the a/c.the other one works with the engine temperature sensor that sends a signal to the computer that turns on the cooling fan.cooling fans are a common problem with gm`s.with jumper wires you can feed the fan directly from the battery if it won`t work then the fan needs replacing.it could also be the fan relay in the relay box.have you checked the fuses.with it having been on a scanner it should have shown a code for the circuit,as such if there was a problem with the relay, fuse or computer it should have shown it.so i would say its probably the cooling fan motor.

1996 corvette (plain jane -

Stop by any good auto parts store (IE: Autozone, Advance, etc...) and have them do a OBII scan & have them do a hard reset with scanner. If light comes back, get list if codes/faults and start there. OBCs get easily "confused" with multiple faults (especially when car sits for long periods) RE: Temp issue, check relays and make sure there is no condensation/corrosion on terminals.

Rsbwales: Would you please tell

some of these are located on or by the fuse panel and some are in a relay panel either under the dash or under the hood.you don`t have to remove the dash assembly to get access to it.its been a few years since i did one so don`t neccessarily qoute me on it.but this will get you started.the other thing is you can call either a auto parts store or the dealer to ask if they will be able to tell you the location.
