Check engine light on and ford stops while running
Well if you reached 100,000 miles or more it can be a lot of things. Best bet is to take it to a mechinic who specializes in Fords and let him run a scan and see what it is. My guess would be the ECM/PCM they have a high failure rate at that mile stone...

Find code for door entry on 2008 ford explorer sport trac
The Factory Code came with the owners manual
& in the keyless entry on the door, then you can change it
If you don't have that, then your going to pay a dealer
to resolve the issue, if you don't know what is in there now,
so you can change it,again the instructions are in the manual

2008 explorer door locks not locking from door switches
This is not a good thing. Ford uses a computer called the GEM and that means General Electronics Module. It controls:
- Low Coolant Indicator On Cluster
- Brake Indicator on Cluster
- DRL - Control
- Wipers
- AutoLamps
- Rear Defrost
- Interior Lamps(dome)
- High Beam Indicator only (cluster)
- Low Coolant indicator
- Key-in Buzzer
- Seatbelt indicator only (Cluster)
- Trunk Pop Relay
- Power Locks
- Door Ajar Sensors
- Door Keyless entry pad
- Remote Keyless Entry
- One Touch Down (power window)
- Air Bag Tone
- Anti Theft (perimeter Alarm) (SEL, or SE(s) with mods)
- Lift gate ajar (wagon)
- Liftgate Pop
- Accessory Delay signal (accessory that work after engine off, prior to door ajar)
- Battery Saver Relay signal (accessory that work after engine off, 15 mins) Map lights, vanity mirrors
They are located behind the radio in the dash and they are $$$ about 600 USD.

98 ford explorer wont turn over, changed altenator and battery, fuel pump, cranky sensor and filter, still wont start
If the Brake pedal switch is the sensor you are referring to, then my solution is redundant. If not, then it is probably your problem. Check your brakelights by pressing the brakes. The signal is needed to allow the engine to crank.
This is a safety type lockout. The idea is to prevent runaway starts. They want to insure that your foot is on the brake before you try starting the engine or putting the vehicle in gear. This part is often hit by a Drivers feet and broken or shifting out of position.
