Problem with 2008 Ford explorer. Rough, grinding sound & vibrations upon acceleration

Rough grinding sounds with associated vibrations occur intermitantly when accelerating. Notice more during lower RPM probable due to softer road noise but does occur during higher RPM. Vibration/sound resolved when not accelerating or maintaining speed.

sounds like your fan clutch may be failing, remove the drive belt and manually spin all the pulleys by have listen for noise and feel for looseness in the bearings

Why is it it when I shift into and through first (automatic) it is rough and grinding sounding but once into 2nd and on it runs fine?
You have a broken part inside the transmission, it will need to be torn down and inspected.

Is there a way you can Clarify your Question? There is a lot of words that are not meaning anything.. Is 2-3 RPM an accurate comment or are you meaning 2,000 - 3,000 RPM ?

I was driving my 1992 Ford Explorer when all of a sudden I heard lound grinding noises. It sounded like metal dragging on the ground mixed with grinding gears and metal under the truck. When I looked
sounds like possible brake job if the truck didn't drive differently or you can feel light vibrations on the steering wheel...either way could be costly depnding on if you know how to change your brakes yourself :)

A grinding noise can be heared when clutch engaged. If clutch release everything sounds normal. Release bearing has been replaced, but fault still remains. Noise get softer when rpm are increase
the throw out bearing has not been properly installed on the fork

Chevy Aveo grinding noise from accelerator when A/C is on
It will be the ac compressor clutch that slipping when after it has been activated/engaged. This happens when the engine is winding up the compressor clutch is not engaging strong enough and start slipping. However as the engine rpm stabilize on the ac compressor has caught up (same rpm) no slipping occur and no noise. Was the clutch mechanism replaced with the compressor replacement? (however it need to be checked/repaired).
