SOURCE: No Bake; everything else works

Hi, When you put the oven on bake, can you see the ignitor glowing but get no flame?
Sound like the ignitor might be getting weak and not opening the gas valve. Please let me know if this sounds like the problem.
It is common for the ignitor to go bad. Even if it glows, it can be bad.
Please let me know if I can assist you further.

SOURCE: GE Spectra XL44 Gas Oven, flashing "Locked Door". Can't use oven or close door

To bayziepepper. Thanks so much. Had the same problem as those above and pressing the black button solved the problem. Now, I don't need to call the repairman.

As for shannon603, I think he/she has his/her own particular problem (and not only with the oven).

SOURCE: GE Profile electric range: I'm getting an F0

Hi greengib,

The Failure code "F0" description is a stuck touchpad. Usually means that either the touch pad or the oven control (also called clock or ERC) is defective and needs to be replaced. If this fault code cannot be cancelled, replace the oven control (also called clock or ERC), touch pad, or both.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Hi, I have a Maytag stove and unfortunately have lost my manual. In the last couple of days there has been an alarm going off with F1 appearing on the display panel. Once at 5:30 am and at 1:00 am. Could...

With Maytag Ovens the F1 error means Defective touch pad or clock (ERC). This simple test will help determine whether the ERC (Electronic Range Control or Clock) or the touch pad is defective when F1 error code is present. (If you don't feel comfortable doing this yourself you need to arrange a repair technician to look at it for you)

1. Disconnect power to the range (unplug the range power cord or turn the power off to the range at the circuit breaker). It is very important that the power to the range has been disconnected, so please double check before continuing.
2. Gain access inside the control panel.
3. Disconnect the touch pad (also called keypad or membrane switch) ribbon from the ERC.
4. Make sure there are no lose wires, or anything else that may cause a short when power is turned back on. Assemble the control panel back the way it was.
5. Turn the power back on.
6. Wait for at least one hour to see if the F1 code comes back (usually accompanied by a beeping sound).
7. If F1 comes back, replace the ERC. If it does not, replace the touch pad.

Regards, Kat (please leave feedback, thanks)

Maytag gas oven has an F1 code. Model # CGR3740ADW.

The F1 code on a Maytag electric stove means the electronic range control, clock or touch pad is defective. You or a technician can do a test to determine which item is broken, but you must replace the electronic clock range in models where the touch pad and range control are one part.

I have an in the maytag gas oven that keeps beep and show f-1 when its shut off

This simple test will help determine whether the ERC (Electronic Range/oven Control or Clock) or the touch pad is defective when this error code is present.

1. Disconnect power to the range/oven (unplug the range/oven power cord or turn the power off to the range/oven at the circuit breaker). It is very important that the power to the range/oven has been disconnected, so please double check before continuing.
2. Gain access inside the control panel.
3. Disconnect the touch pad (also called keypad or membrane switch) ribbon from the ERC/EOC.
4. Make sure there are no lose wires, or anything else that may cause a short when power is turned back on. Assemble the control panel back the way it was.
5. Turn the power back on.
6. Wait for at least one hour to see if the code comes back (usually accompanied by a beeping sound).
7. If the code comes back and the beeping as well, replace the ERC(control board). If it does not, replace the touch pad.

Maytag model #MDB7601AWQ Dishwasher

If you think its the button...this can't hurt anything...Take a writing pen on the back end and push hard...If it clicks on a least you know the problem. I do this at gas stations that have these same kind if buttons....They get old and your finger want engage your selection... Just something to do before you go buy the whole panel.

Maytag wall oven Model # MEW6530DDS control panel failing

HI, unfortunately, it is not just dirt, this is a faulty touch pad that is combined with the control board. most touch pads are separate parts that are clipped in front of the circuit board but, in this case, the touch pad and control board are one piece. You will need to replace the entire control board in this case. the touch pad is faulty.

Claibrating the temperature of a GE gas oven

First of all, do not use the oven thermometers from a grocery store. they can be off by 20 degrees or more. These directions may help you for electronically controlled ovens. The older manually controlled ovens have a small screw head in the center of the oven temperature knob that can be adjusted in usually 10 degree increments.

To Adjust the Thermostat
Touch the Bake and Broil Hi/Lo pads
at the same time for 3 seconds until the
display shows SF.
Touch the Bake pad. A two digit number
shows in the display.
Touch Bake once to decrease (-)
the oven temperature, or twice to
increase (+).
The oven temperature can be adjusted
up as much as 35°F. or down as much
as 35°F. Touch the number pads the
same way you read them. For example,
to change the oven temperature 15°F,
touch 1 and 5.
When you have made the adjustment,
touch the Start pad to go back to the
time of day display. Use your oven as
you would normally.
NOTE: The thermostat adjustment for Baking
will also affect Convection Baking or Convection Roasting.

Touch Pad

Yes the control panel will need to be replaced. The problem now is these solid state controls and probably made in Mexico. 40 yrs ago everything was mechanical and had fewer problems.
