The dehumidifier has been running but not collecting any water. I didnt have it running at all throughout the winter, not sure if something clogged during that time. It's only 2 years old.

Dehumidifier water is not collecting in the bucket but is falling out and is dumping on the floor

Check the collection bucket, to make sure it is installed tightly. If that checks out OK, the drain hole or tube that dumps water in to the bucket is clogged. To clear the clog, remove the bucket and look up under the top were the bucket rests. There will be a hose or a drain tube, Using an 18" long plastic Zip Tie or something similar (NO wire coat hangers), that will fit into the hole or tube, carefully insert The Zip Tie and push it into the hole or tube. The Zip Tie will reach a bend in the tube that you need to gingerly, work it past the bend. Once the Zip Tie bottoms out or you run out of Zip Tie, slowly pull it back out, while rotating it. This will dislodge the clog. Once you have the Zip Tie almost removed, be prepared for some water to follow.

The above should solve your problem. Hope this info helped you.

Plug it in turn it on and nothing in the bucket after several hours

Hi, Mindy! The following is an overall review of what causes the problem you listed.

If the room air is less than the set air, then there is no water in the bucket, because there is almost no humidity in the air. If it is winter, there is likely not enough humidity in the air to have water collect in the bucket. A dehumidifier will only pick up humidity out of warm air. If you are running a dehumidifier in your basement in the winter, the room may be damp, but too cold for the dehumidifier to pull out the humidity. Try running the unit in the bathroom after having a hot shower without the bathroom fan on. If working correctly the unit should draw water. In addition, if you set the humidity level you want to maintain higher the actual humidity level in the house or room, it won't pickup and collect any moisture. The fans on most of the dehumidifiers on the market today run almost constantly. They do this, so that the room air is always moving and if humidity is detected, it will extract it.

Hope this helps you understand how dehumidifiers function and what you can expect from them under given circumstances,. In fact, there may not be anything mechanically wrong with yours. But, to make sure, do what is suggested above to test the unit.

Compressor sounds as if its on, the fan is on, but water is not extrated from the air

Try running the unit in the bathroom after having a hot shower without the bathroom fan on. If working correctly the unit should draw water.

In addition, check to see if the air filter is dirty and/or blocked. Also, the room temperature might be too low, (below 15.5 C/ 60F) and finally, check to make sure that there is no obstruction to the unit, that might be causing poor airflow circulation.

I hope this helps you to troubleshoot and solve the problem.

My Goldstar dehumidifier model DH304 runs, but fails to pick up any water

Other things that can cause problems: 1.Check to see if the air filter is dirty and/or blocked. 2. The room temperature might be too low, (below 60 degrees Fahrenheit ) 3. Check to make sure that there is no obstruction to the unit that might be causing poor airflow circulation.

Hope this helps you to troubleshoot & solve the problem.

Our humidifer runs but does not collect water.

Againg, if theres no moister in the air it wont remove water. if you feel the location for exmaple a basment feels cool when entering , then mosuet exist. dehumidifer will make any location warm when removing the coolnest in the air. within summer hot months it will collect more water than in the winter months. if it does feel cool and machine dont remove the water. call a repair person.

No water colledction

Check to see that the air is flowing freely through the dehumidifier. They will accumulate dust particles and become plugged. Also make sure that it is not freezing up (you would see ice forming inside through the vent openings). I have had to remove the case to clean lint from some units to get them to operate more efficently. Always unplug the unit to clean and service it.
