You probably have a problem with your router, or cable modem. Try resetting the router and cable modem. To do this unplug the cable modem for ten seconds, then the router for ten seconds. Plug in the router first wait till all the lights except for the ONLINE light are solid flashing then plug in the cable modem and wait for about 30 seconds and try again.

Satellite p35 will not go to wireless

Might not have a wireless card installed ??

If your Toshiba Satellite notebook computer is equipped with a wireless Internet card, you can connect to a Wi-Fi access point by turning on the wireless switch on the side of the laptop.
However, the signal may not always be picked up by your wireless receiver; if that is the case, you will need to check your wireless-network settings and reconfigure the network connections manually.

Open the Network Settings program. Click on the Control Panel in your "Programs" bar and select "Network Settings."
This will give you options for modifying how you connect to the Internet.
Select "Connect to a Network" or "Show Network Status and Tasks."
Both selections will show you whether you are disconnected from the wireless network.

Select "Manage Network Connections."
This selection is located on the left side of the window; clicking on it will show you whether you are connected to a local area connection or wireless network connection.

Engage the wireless connection.
Turn your wireless switch to "On," then right-click on the wireless network connection.
Select "Connect/Disconnect."

Wait for the IP address acquisition.
It may take a few minutes for your Toshiba Satellite to pick up the signal and transmit your IP address.
When this is complete, you will see the word "Connected" next to the name of your wireless connection, and a series of bars that indicate signal strength.
Launch your favorite browser to access the Internet using the wireless connection.

Coby Kyros MD1042 will not connect to Internet

I hate to be rude but WEP was broken several years ago. Use WPA or WPA2 or (best of all) a wired connection.

Make sure you have the latest firmware for your router and the latest drivers for your network card on the PC/laptop or console.

Why will my Acer Aspire 5552 running W7 only connect to the internet when it's near the router? When elsewhere in the house, it shows 2 bars on the signal strength, but will not connect to the rou

That means you have a crummy internal wireless card. Your best bet would be to purchase a USB wireless card and your problem will be solved.

Trouble connecting to wireless network

Hello

You probably have a virus. To check for sure goto Start, Run and type cmd. Once the DOS screen pops up type ipconfig /all. If this shows data in all the lines (not zero's) then type ping Sony.com on the next line. If that comes back saying that Reply and then an address, this means that your actual internet is working fine and that your browser is infected or corrupted. If possible download the virus cleaner from www.avgfree.com and from www.download.com download malware bytes. You can download these at your local libray. Run these to clean your machine and then your browser should be fine. Also, get superantispyware from www.superantispyware.com.

Good Luck

Can not connect wirelessly with router

The list of wireless routers that are available in Windows is very limited and the signal strength of any router that is detected is weak. This can occur when the Lite-On USB Wireless 802.11 b/g hardware and Windows are not able to fully synchronize the signal strength data. Figure 1: Example of detected wireless devices when the antenna cable wire is connected to secondary port c01153759.jpg Figure 2: Example of detected wireless devices in the same environment when the antenna cable wire is connected to primary port c01153760.jpg To correct this error , download and install Lite-On USB Wireless LAN Driver Update (sp35177) (in English) from the HP Web site. This update should only be applied if your PC has the Lit-On USB Wireless LAN adapter and is exhibiting the symptom. As a work-around, you can connect the wire that runs from the wireless antenna port to the primary port on the cord as follows: CAUTION: This product contains components that can be damaged by electrostatic discharge (ESD). To reduce the chance of ESD damage, work over a non-carpeted floor, use a static dissipative work surface (like a conductive foam pad), and wear an ESD wrist strap connected to a grounded surface.
  1. Open the side panel.
  2. Find the wireless networking board by following the antenna wire connected to the wireless networking antenna port on the back of the computer. Figure 3: Wireless networking hardware c01153761.jpg 1 - Wireless network board 2 - Antenna wire 3 - Wireless networking antenna port
  3. Very carefully, disconnect the small wire from the board by gently pulling the end of the wire away from the board.
  4. Connect the wire to the other available port on the board. Figure 4: Available port c01153762.jpg
  5. Replace the side panel, connect the power cord, turn on the computer, and use the computer again to verify that wireless signal strengths have improved.
