Hi its just that my touch mouse on the laptop has got very worn and now looks shiny and certain things are beconing increasingly difficult to do on it. Its not that old but does get a lot of use. The rest of the laptop is working fine and I wondered if this is something that can somehow be replaced? Its also has quite an uncomfortable sticky feel about it.

Geek Squad at Best Buy can do the Replacement for a very reasonable Price but if you are not interested in spending the replacement price you can buy a USB wirless mouse for about $15 at almost any retail outlet that sells PC accessories and can make using a laptop a lot easier especially if you are like me and do not like using those little touch mouse pads.

Thumbs up if helpful! Feedback is appreciated!! Good Luck!!!

I have a 2011 kia Sorento that continues to blow the 40 amp ignition fuse under the hood. Replace the fuse...runs a couple days then blows again. We have replace relays and fuses and checked starter..

Starters will still work when worn but will have increased drag drewing too many amps. which will blow your fuses. before replacing older starter first remove all wire connections shiny clean and replace. make certain starter is tight to block(this is your ground. ) Important to remove ground cable from battery before working on starter.

Curser will not move

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

If you are using the touch pad and the cursor will not move, you may want to try and use a mouse. The touch pad on your computer may have worn out. If the mouse works, it may be your pad.

Please check to make sure that touch pad button is on. If the mouse will not move the cursor, your drivers may have been corrupted and you have to download new drivers after uninstalling the old one. Which one you download will depend on what type of computer you have.

I haven't used a touchpad before. I haven't had a

There are lot of people who can't get used to the mouse or (touch pad as it is called) on the lap top. I know, I am one. I hate the touch pad. Easiest solution is to use a regular mouse with a USB connection. Or you can buy a wireless mouse. If you carry around a lap top, it becomes a must that you have a laptop case. So, a wireless mouse is not going to be a hindrance. Best option would be a wireless one. Buy one. Put the CD that comes with it in the drive. set up the receiver (just install the program that came in the CD. That is it.) Put battery in the mouse, and press a button (a small button called connect) at the bottom of the mouse. And you are all ready to go as usual. This connect thing is a one time operation. You need to repeat it only when you change the battery. I guess you will get used to the key board in a weeks time. If the touch pad start acting up, you can disable the touch pad, so that only your mouse will be active. I am not sure what icons you are referring to, but if they are on the key board, most keys of the laptop have multiple functions. They are kind of colour coded.Look closely on the Fn key. you may notice that it is a little gray. You will also notice other markings that are gray on the keyboard. This means when that key is pressed in combination with Fn it has a new function. For example, Fn and F6 will decrease the brightness of the screen. Fn and F7 increases. Fn and F8 will turn your wireless on or off. There a few other functions like that too.

Add Toshiba Netbook for major cursor jumping making very difficult to use word processor. Oddly seems okay with Free Cell. Goes bonkers if word processing. I will try some of the solutions listed above...

It may sound kind of ridiculous but if you place a post it note over the mouse pad the cursor no longer jumps around. it may not always be convenient but for lengthy typing it really helps and easy to remove, etc.

reinstall your touchpad drivers, and make sure it is not switched off (if you were using an extra mouse)

99 KX 500 skips in 3rd gear

hello
when gears start to skip it is most likely one of towo things. either a shift fork is bent or the gear dogs are worn. when inspecting gears they may not appear to be broken or worn. what you are looking for is shiny worn dogs or slots on the gears. if they dont appear to have the newly casted look to them but yet shiny slightly worn spots. that is more then enough for a gear to kick out of place. next look at the shift forks. the pads of the forks should also appear to be new. under normal use these dont wear. so if there is any sign of scrapping, or shiny worn spots this indicates a bent fork. like i said these arent really noticeable at first glance but a good hard look will reveal these shiny spots that make a big difference.

Mouse and Keyboard problems

sounds like the electrical connector to these devices is somehow partially disconnected. Must open machine and look at these connectors to verify insertion. Good luck on opening machine...it is quite difficult and try to have a camera handy to snap photos of difficult areas for later reference.
