I want to upgrade the HDD of a Toshiba Satellite P200-156 to 500GB/640GB/750GB or more if possible but I'm not sure which specifications must be compatible. verify that you are using a tobisha power adapter that is for this computer. blinkng light are normal associate with wrong voltages

How many GB or TB is your hard drive? I am sure this laptop can take 750GB or less SATA hdd. Probably you received a defective hard drive.

Have you formatted with the OS which came along with your laptop( pre loaded OS CD). I feel you have Formatted your laptop with PANASONIC OS CD.

Yes you can use a larger HD to 120gb...
Just be sure the Storage controller type (HD) is IDE not SATA.

Before going for the upgrade make sure you read the specifications as to how much size your system supports,
Then take your laptop to the authorized vendor and ask them to upgrade it accordingly so that you do not have any compatibility issues later.

10gb of RAM is not enough for Windows XP. You need to upgrade your HDD to about atleast 40 GB HDD Minimal... I'd recommend a new PC if you can get that to work out, but I understand the tuff economical times..
