Usually this is caused by the scanner being locked. If you look under the scanner there should be a clear lock switch. Make sure that is in the unlocked position. If it is not that then most likely it is involving the scanner mirror assembly and would require servicing by a technician.

That should be a problem. Just go to the web site of the web cam manufacturer and specify the cam model and the operating system. download the drivers and install it. You are good to go then.
