Controller looks to be working ok but no water coming out at all
1. Water has been turned off. Loosen the bleeder thumb screw or turn lever on valve in open direction or counter clockwise. If valve does not open water may have been shut-off. Look for a shut-off valve adjacent to water meter, on a white PVC pipe leading from a hose bib at the house or under a 8" round green lid in landscape at grade level. If lever is not parallel to pipe it is off turn 90 degrees to the left or right whichever way it turns. This is a ball valve. If handle is round turn it clockwise if it turns it is probably open. If not turn counter clockwise if it turns continue until it stops it was closed and this was the problem. If it never stops turning it is because it is a gate valve and it is broken with the gate shut. Replace using a ball valve. If valve opens, close the bleeder and refer to #3.
2. Timers have a battery back-up used to remember settings in a power failure or if power is lost for any reason. Will still show a display but does not operate using battery power. Check to be sure timer is plugged in. If so, test outlet for power using a lamp or any 120V device. If no power check circuit breakers and reset all Ground Fault Interrupters GFI. These are in the outlets located outside, in the garage, kitchen and bathrooms with a test and reset button between the plugs. Press reset if it clicks and holds problem solved. If not, press reset on all until 1 holds then reset remainder problem solved. If all are tripped and will not reset check circuit breakers. None are tripped call a electrician.
3. If your sure outlet has power and timer appears to be operating correctly after manually starting each zone at the timer and were directed here after completing #1. Open the timer to expose the wiring check that all wires are secure and take note of the wire color in the pin marked "Comm" or "Ground" should be white could be green. Be sure 1 wire from each valve is connected to the corresponding color in the field. If wires are not connected this is your problem reconnect. If all are connected start a zone using the timer listen for a buzzing sound at corresponding valve using the same wire color as in pin at timer. Example: Pin 1 uses a red wire find the valve using the red wire this is zone 1. If it is buzzing or vibrating the wiring does not have a short if after testing all valves and all buzz water is OFF. If not call a professional. Not the Gardener he is probably why your having problems to begin with. If you happen to be in San Diego call me I will diagnose the problem in 30 minutes or it's free.
