Cannot find replacement for usb
Consider NOT using the USB connection. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as
Picasa.

Memory card. Wich one to
The 5299 can use any SD card up to 2GB in size or any SDHC card up to 8GB. I'd stick with the major brands. If you're shooting mostly video then go with at least a class 4 SDHC card, otherwise don't worry about the speed of the card.
Cannot get the camera to stay on to take pictures,
This is usually a battery problem. If your battery is more than a year old it probably needs to be replaced. Before you do that, though, remove the battery, then clean its contacts and those inside the camera by rubbing them with a clean, dry cloth. After the cleaning, recharge the battery then see if the problem is fixed. If not, replace the battery.
