Hello christine, most computers os/drivers/recovery disc (disc that came with your system) has already being pre installed before shipped to you or before you buy them. even though insderting the cd or not wonmt cause damage to the system since its the disc that came with you set. so dont allow it bother you whatever you do. if its already installed it would let you know if it isnt you will be informed still.

Turn it on first and see if the drivers and OS are already pre-installed. If it is not then put the CD (s) in and just follow the prompts.

If your Lenovo desktop is pre-installed with Windows operational system, press one-key reset key when your laptop is power off. Or press Shift + B to come back to factory setting instantly when Lenovo desktop is open.
Or press F2 when your Lenovo desktop is powering on. Few seconds later, a dialog pops up with several options, one-key reset and reset factory setting. Follow the operation wizard to reset factory setting is OK.

Insert the Recovery CD into your CD-ROM.
Reboot your computer.
Watch the text in DOS carefully. When prompted to boot from your CD, do so.
Choose System Restore and then follow the instructions presented. Once system recovery beings, it may take a few minutes. Once it's done, your system will reboot again.
Remove the Recovery CD from your CD-ROM and store it carefully. Your system has been reset to the factory default.
