I went to this website and updated my phone (erases all phone based memory however so beware)

Right well exactly the same thing has happened to me too, just switched off my alarm and BAMB... the blue ring of death!

It happened to me the same thing about a month ago, I've searched the web and found out it is a bug, which they call " the blue ring of death". There are two solution to fix this, namely, Flashing, second updated it through using SEUS. I've tried SEUS since it's from SE, and after that, it works. Hope it helps

BeefyJoe, did you manage to fix the problem? I've been travelling for 3 months and just as I was boarding my flight to Oz my phone started doing the same thing...and still is! I'm on a backpackers budget as I'm away for the next 9 months and wondered if you managed to find a low budget solution?

You either have a dud power board - firmware stuffed- boot loader buggered- if under warranty get it replaced else it will cost you $100 for the board etc to be replaced...this is something happened to a mate and he just puchased a new phone...
the k850i is very well known for major issues like this to happen but they wont do **** to get it fixed.
Its a fault with the software.......ive had the same problem.........take it to the mobile company they should send it away free of charge. This should be fixed in 5-7 days

i think the wires that go to the screen are broken. they tend to do that on slider phones and flip phones.

my k850i doesn't turn on either. when you turn it on it vibrates, the keypad lights up the blue ring around the camera lights up. it just stays like that until it runs out of battery. i've discovered it isn't the battery because i tried someone elses.
exactly the same turn it on it vibrates keys light on and blue ring round the lens but nothing happens, i hatttee this phone
My K850i has developed this same problem today. I noticed the screen blank and the number keys all lit up.
I remove & reinsert the battery then switch on but the same thing happens.
It's dead!
Sent one last text message and then the phone went blank, blue ring lit up and keypad lit up. Have tried removing and replacing battery, memory card and sim in different combos. It's definitely dead.

Phone vibrates as it powers up, lights come on keypad and around camera lens at back. That's it no screen, no nothing :-(

Hi i have the same keyboard and camera light problem, but when i turn mine on it only stays on for a few seconds before rebooting so updating is impossible, does anyone have any ideas how i could get it to not reboot?
Same goes to me. I encountered this problem before but it aint that serious, i always managed to get it work again after a short while. But this time, no matter how many times i re-insert the battery, it just wont function. The light on the keypad is on, the blue light surrounding the camera len is lit on too. But the screen is blank.

I had the blue ring of death. I tried SEUS but it didn't work - the phone was worse - completely dead no lights or vibration. Then the pc didn't recognise when I plugged in the phone. I removed the battery and tried again. This time the pc saw the phone and SEUS worked! Despite having been on charge the battery was completely drained. I am currently charging the phone to see if it holds the charge but the phone is working again - just have to reinstall all the applications I had. Just a note if you try this - I had a please wait screen for about 2 minutes before it restarted so be patient with it.

1. i turn it on
2. keypad lights and camera light come on but not screen light
3. it will turn off
4. it will reboot but then the same lights come on
5.it will turn of agen ans so on and so on,,, ?
i've tried takin the bettery out leving it out and everythingggg wat do i do?

I have the same difficulties...just the other night my phone was working well then it happened...the screen kept on going black/blank but the keypad is still active..keypad lights kept on turning on & off...it's like the same thing happened after you eject your phone to your pc...that thing happen now...like every 15 sec or less...

iv just tried to turn my phone back on and all i get is a short vibrate and keypad lights up and then sweetFA im insured but iv got 40 quid excess is there a quicker and easier solution. phil 245
