No according to the july issue of pc magazine theyu gave this a verry good rating they had some battery issues but it was not very bad good luck i would give it a 9 out of 10

You can try to boot your laptopwith a live Linux CD (e.g. Knoppix CD). This OS can bypass windows installation on the hard drive.See if you can use the touchpad. If the problem is still the same, then your problem is not related to your windows software. It could be a hardware problem.
