Is there a fault?? All UL listed generators including Kohler are required to lockout on a fault on shut down. This really sounds like a problem with your 2-wire auto start connection between your automatic transfer switch and genset. RDT model automatic transfer switch it is the 2 middle wires on the green connector and terminals 3&4 in the generator. close to run and open to shut down. Any open at any time will cause the unit to shut down. The 12 will shut down instantly upon an open because your 5 minute cool down is built into the transfer switch.
Possibility Fan Cooler Issue Check at the back if your hear the fan going if not your fan cooler is burn out .... The Thermistor will shut off the TV automaticly to the unit for Over Heat
Could be loose connections on the board where the solder is expanding as it heats up causing a loose connection or something in the power supply or horizontal is over heating and your tv is going into shutdown protection . Good luck
Unit was working fine, took a movie out,put in new one,but would not play.Tried hitting open button ,unit will not respond, all other functions working ok.
What could be the problem,is it worth fixing?/Is there a reset button somewhere on unit?
Mine will always just turn off every minute or so after a hard shut down(ex: power outtage). I have to turn it back on and then hold the set button for a few seconds, then it stays on, until i turn it off manually, since the remote won't turn it off.
Sounds like a thermal breakdown of a componet. it could be in the main power supply regulaor supply or even a bad capacitor in the power or sweep supply. In some cases Zener diodes can break down and change values after warm up. In some cases also bad solder connections in the highvoltage section, or the power supply can cause this problem. It is a hard call without being able to look at the set. Just a few leads on where to go first. most likly a combo unit, such as this one , would cost you more then a new one these days. Good Luck
