If the vent line is plugged then the dryer will cycle up to the point the resettable
thermal overload trips, if it occurs too many times the other overload will trip which
is the non resettable one. You can test this (since it is electric) by detaching
the vent hose.
The dryer could also have buildup around the blower which is also common and will cause
this condition.

Not gettin enough heat

if the dryer is heating most likely it hasn't been cleaned out.you have to clean out the duct that the lint filter slides into and if the vent line is long remove it from the back of dryer, stick a leaf blower in the vent and blow all the lint outside, this should be done once a year and also vac out and blow out the cabinet where the motor is more so if it's gas, lint catches fire and you have an open flame in there.next time send brand name and model number off of machine you're having problems with.all a dryer does is move air,if there's a block somewhere it will take longer to dry the clothes, also if this is a gas dryer you could have bad gas coils, the coils will run for the first 15 to 30 minutes, when they get hot no more heat, when they cool down they will work again, next time you run if it's gas, start it,after 15 to 30 minutes look at the ignitor,if it glows orange but no flame the coils are bad.

Dryer will not come on after setting timer and pushing start. No light when door is open.

Most likely the door switch is bad. Listen for a click when the door is just opened or closed. Noclick = bad door switch. The number you passed is NOT the model number. The model number will have 3 digits followed by a period and up to 8 more digiits after the period. i.e 110.xxxxyyyy or 110.Cxxx.yyy (examples only as it can be other numbers depending on the manufacturer.) There are other numbers starting with 417 and 665 also.
This is what I think your model number is: 11064672400

The door switch is item 41 below link: PN 3406107

This manual will help you:
http://applianceassistant.com/pdf/27gasElectricDryers.pdf
The top has to be opened and the front panel taken lose and tipped out to change the door switch.
The manual is not straight forward as to the sequence of remofing things but you remove the top... open the toe panel loosen the lower front panel screws and then take out the 2 upper mounting screws for the front panel to gain acccess to the door switch. POWER OFF at the CB or dryer unplugged of course!

Kenmore Electric Dryer model# 11064672400 doesn't heat up. Repair guy said that the timer is bad and that is the reason that dryer will not dry. Blower and timer seems to be working, just not heating or...

Lets look at that fried timer
themobilian_519.jpg
A leg on the timer with a big old fat red wire goes down to the heating element. over time the contacts take a beating from the arcing. To test it remove the red wire from the terminal marked RH and clip one lead of an ohmmeter to that terminal. Then check for continuity between that leg and any other terminal on that there timer. if you cannot get a reading. you have a bad timer. Turn the timer knob to various spots on the timer dial to do a thorough test. Onward to today's fabulous timer deal:
You kiddin me $108? That is high even for a fab price. I would do this before buying a new timer.
What can you loose at this point? Remove the timer from the dryer. Take the small shank keeper off the shaft. If it breaks toss it, it ain't nothing but a mechanic stopper anyways. Next remove the 2 screws to the cover and CAREFULLY get that plate off without disturbing the innards. Look for that burn contact and file it down smooth. With any luck ya might get it ta go a while longer. With a price like that the timer ought ta have solid gold contacts. themobilian_520.jpg

Electric dryer heat coil off mid cycle

You have 3 thermostats. By the description of the problem it sounds like it needs a new high limit thermostat. All 3 thermostats and the heating coil can be checked with an ohm meter. Also check the ground on the heating coil. It could be grounding it's self out.

Kenmore Dryer

If this is a gas dryer, the rattling noise you hear is usually an indication of the gas valve coils failing on the burner assembly. Your dryer will normally have two of them. One is the main coil, and the other is a pilot position coil. It is recommended that you replace both of them at the same time (usually sold as a set). Searspartsdirect.com carries your parts. Just type in your model number and look under the "Burner Assembly" heading. For comparative shopping, repairclinic.com may also carry your parts. Sometimes at a cheaper price. If this is not a gas dryer, please post back with your model number, so I can assist you better. I hope this helps answer you questions.
