Windows XP sp 3 Product Key - Microsoft Computers & Internet

There is an 800 number that will pop up when you try to register the product key. Call that number give them the error code and they should be able to supply you with the code to unlock your copy of XP. You have to do this anytime you change more then 3 peices of hardward, or install on a replacement computer.

Assuming you mean the product key for Windows, the product key should be on a sticker, usually on the bottom of the laptop. It is probably 25 digits mixed numbers and letters. You should have the disk it came with to install it - sometimes the product key will work with a disk from a different computer, but if the setup disk and your key are different versions it will not work. An example: If you do not have the original setup disk your computer came with, and your computer has XP home and you borrow a disk from someone but it is XP Pro, your number will not work. If your original disk was for XP home and it was with SP-2, (SP = Service Pack) a disk without SP-2 will not work. Plus, the original disk(s) usually came with the drivers you will need to reinstall Windows. You would be pretty lucky to install Windows and not need to download drivers to finish installation. Original setup disks from the manufacturer are not that expensive, and save a lot of time and frustration.

There is no "key" for SP3, its just an update.

Just click on the start menu and perform a Windows/Microsoft Update to install SP3 and then perform another update to update SP3.

You dont need a product key for Service Pack 3 to upgrade from service pack 2.
You can simply download an official copy of Service Pack 3 for Windows XP from Microsoft's downloads center.

Follow the download link to download Service Pack 3, then install it.

Is your copy of XP legal? If so, the SP is free to you from Microsoft. You dont need any further key

it's illegal. you have to ask the supplier of your product.
