How do I remove the custom panel from the dishwasher. This panel is screwed to a metal panel which attaches to the dishwasher. How do you remover this metal panel so I can access the screws for the custom panel?

• i think you can but the only way to be 100% sure is by separating the inner part of the door from the outer. to do this remove the screwsalong the sides and rop of inner panel of the door leave the two screws securing the latch in place. as you remove the screws you will need to support the outer portion of the door, i do this by standing in front of the machine and with the door partially open and againdt my knees while reaching in and removing the screws this help to keep the two halves of the door sandwiched together untill all screws are removed at witch point th e door can be closed and the outer part of the door carefully separated enough to check for any wiring that may be attached to the door and or control panel. I recommend having someone to help you with holding the door together.

Turn off power to the dishwasher at the circuit breaker panel.

Open the dishwasher door and start taking out the screws along the inside perimeter of the door. The door should then start coming apart for you.

If I remember this model correctly, it has a false front that can be removed (once you have removed the long screws holding it), by lifting up on the handle attached to the false front and pulling up and towards you.

Remember which screws go where, because I seem to recall that this unit has different sized screws.

First you have to remove your custom panel by loosening the upper torx 20 screws one on each side, then you open the door and remove 3 screws on the left and right.

There are two main ways to remove it.

• There should be screws on metal trim the side and or bottom of the dishwasher door. Take those out and it should come right off.

Or

• There are screws on the back of the door screwed in to the front of the door. Remove the screws and it should come off.
  

Now this is say IF it was installed properly and not clued or screwed on by just anyone.

usually you can remove the panel with a series of screws. you can tell how old it is by the serial #. depending on the brand the third to fouth #'s should tell you when the unit was made

If your 500E is the same as my 500E then the controls are electronic touch buttons. The are part of a self adhesive strip and stuck to the front of the door. No screws involved. Only the LED lights are mounted on a circuit board with screws on the back of the plastic front panel. ?????

There are a couple of ways. Forst, you may not have to do anything. If you want a great new addition to your kitchen, try www.applianceart.com. these covers are applied without removing the front door. They also have stainless metal ones. To remove the panel there are 2 screws on the sides of the doors. Once removed, the frame will come off and you will be able to slide the panel in and out. DONT LOSE ANY OF THE SCREWS They are not normal screws.

typically there is a metal trim around the wooden front. on the sides of the dishwasher door you will see some small screws. remove those screws and the wooden panel can be easily removed.

Did you knock out the plug on the disposal before you hooked up the drain hose ?
