2002 Grand Caravan Sport, new starter, new battery, battery light came on ans has stayed on since about a week ago. Last night, in a food drive-thru, light, wipers, things went crazy for a second, felt like it lost power. Then this morning, it would not start. Got it jumped, everything went crazy again, then it died. Now it sits ;( Is it the alternator? Plz help...thnx!

Body parts most likely, if it looks the same it will likely fit, electronics I doubt.

I ordered the clockspring on ebay it was $30 buy it now, brand new. This was after the airbag light being on solid for about a week. Then one day it began to come and go intermittently. Then it went off and stayed off about a week.. The clockspring I ordered arrived and I set it aside to see whether the light would come back on. Well, today it did and it was on solid for a 100 miles of driving. I got home and disconnected the battery for about 5 minutes and reconnected. Light stayed on. So I pulled the steering wheel and changed the clockspring and the light has gone off and stayed off so far. I will post back in a few weeks if it stays OFF so others may find this helpful for future reference.

Sounds like the starter solenoid or the starter itself - probably needs replacing but check the wiring at the starter first (loose connection, frayed wires, etc.).

yure ignition switch is sticking in the start position for a few seconds

hit the starter with a hamer if it starts then the starter is rooted

THE BATTERY LIGHT COMES ON TO ALERT YOU TO THE FACT THAT THE BATTERY IS NOT BEING CHARGED BY THE ALTERNATOR, IT DOESN'T MEAN THE BATTERY HAS A PROBLEM, HAVE THE ALTERNATOR TESTED FOR PROPER OPERATION.

could be the starter but could also be a relay that is not working properly. the relays are under the hood. you would have to have someone under the hood and someone turning the key at the same time to see if the relay is working. if it works every time you turn the key then its probably the starter.

one of the smaller red wire at the battery terminal has a bad conection, you may have to make or replace the battery + cable connection.

Looks like a bad clock spring.Don't try to make this repair unless you know what you're doing!! If the airbag blows during the process,let's just say it'll ruin your day & probably the next week. I'm a chrysler master tech,so heed my warning please. I'd tell ya how to do it but I'll get sued if you get hurt.

Yah code 1684, it just tells you that battery/computer has been disconnected within last 50 starts. If it doesn't drive you nuts, give it some time, you'll be suprised how quick 50 starts will go by & light should go out
