Samsung bd p1580 wont play toy story 3 or Serenity. the picture freezes and skips but plays other blue-rays fine. it has the latest firmware (2.15)

This sounds like the Actual dvds or corrupt. If they are copies they may not play well.

    Hi,
    Both bluerays play fine in another player so I don't think it's them. Could it be my player is broke? Though it plays others fine. So confused

    Hmm, I could be that the Laser lens Needs replacing, in this case it maybe cheaper to buy a new DVD player..If it is only these two DVDs I would wait until you cant get any DVDs to play then replace it. I assume you have tried a lens cleaner.>


    Sorry couldn't help anymore. Electronics is not an exact science YET,,LOL.

My samsung bd-p1600 will not play blu ray movies
If it plays other Blue Ray discs OK then either the disc is faulty or it is the wrong region. If it previously played, then my bet is that the disc has a scratch or dirt on it. If you have another blue-ray player or you have a friend with one try it on that or theirs.

Report the error to Samsung support. There is an ongoing problem with the firmware. Make sure you have updated to the most recent firmware version 1025.0 that was released this month. There are still unresolved problems with the new firmware release though. Many movies will fail to load and other will load and play but will skip/freeze during playback. This is related to the anti-piracy features on the Blu-Ray that the player can not properly handle.

BD-P1600 will play DVD-R with no problems up untill the last chapter of a movie then the picture freezes up and wont finish playing. is there a solution? Updated firmware about 3 weeks ago.
Either the Laser needs to be cleaned or it needs to be replaced. To clean, purchase a DVD player cleaner that uses fluid. roughly 20.00 run it a couple times and test. If it works, great. If it doesn't, replace the unit. It's cheaper than the repair. Hope this helps

Blu ray discs freeze up after playing a few chapters, regular dvds play fine, player says it has the latest firmware available
Do the reset that is in the menu first. After completing that reset hold down the power button on the bluray player itself not the one on the remote until it displays reset on its screen.

We tried to play Toy Story 3 and it wouldnt play
I had to update my firmware on my Samsung BD-P1500. Followed the instructions on the Samsung Website. Make sure you use ISO Burning SW. I wasted 3 CD-R trying to burn the disk correctly.

Toy Story 3 will not play on my Blue Ray player all other blue ray disk's work fine.
Have you updated your Blu-Ray player recently? All BD players need to be updated from time to time because of the growing technology of Blu-Ray. Its always been a con of BD players. Best thing to do is have your player connect to the internet.
I hope this is the back of your player. Connect your Cat5 (Ethernet cable) to your BD player and than to your router or modem. The port should look like this on the back of your player.

Once you have this connected start your player and it will have a option in the menu to update. Once the update is complete Toy Story 3 and all new BD discs should work. If not, its possible that the disc is bad. More often you just need to update the player.

My lg superblue bh200 will not play the princess and the frog and toy story on blue ray but plays all of my other movies fine. All it does is ask for the language and then goes black.
Hi. I have Toy Story on the Lg bd 560 bluray and discovered the same thing. There are two ways that you can get it to play. Go to factory reset in the menu. This is called initialize software on my player. It should now play without any problems. The only trouble is that if you turn off your player and back on again, it will not work until you do another factory reset. The easiest way to solve the problem is to disconnect your internet connection[no more factory resets required]. For some reason this movie does not like the internet being connected on my bluray player. I have told LG Australa about the problem and they will probably fix it in another firmware update. All the best.

When i try to play a blue ray movie in my blue ray it sputters, skips and pauses. when it gets to the moive part it wont play. i have tryed other blue rays and dvds and they work fine.i returned the moive...
most of the times a firmware upgrade would fix this problem.
