This type of problems are commonly seen with the monitors and this generally happens due to a faulty display cable (vga Cable) or the connecting port or monitor driver (driver 10% only). Cable should not be tensed it should be comfortably plugged in. please connect both power and display cable properly. Also try replacing the cable at shop. just go on shop and check with a new cable. if this fixes the problem then get a new cable. otherwise this could be problem with internal display cable or something else internally wrong, which requires a technician.
mohanjith, First thing to investigate is the lcd monitor internal power supply for failed electrolytic filter capacitors on the power supply circuit board. If swollen and leaky, then you might try to replace the bad ones with new ones. Visit YOUTUBE for video clips to see if you can do the investigation/repair. Search YOUTUBE using "lcd monitor disassembly" and "lcd monitor repair"!!! Lots ov video clips to learn how to do DIY repair. 12fixlouie
s mosaad, if you prove pc is ok, then you should first watch some of the longer and more useful video clips at YOUTUBE!!! Your search is "lcd monitor disassembly" and "lcd monitor repair" .. How old is unit? Did you learn to do "flashlight test" to possibly evaluate unit's "switch-mode-power-supply" status?? Do you know how to use soldering iron? Are you certain the pc or software is not causing the problem?? 12fixlouie
prebenschled, Do you mean to tell me you haven't been to YOUTUBE to see video clips of lcd monitors being disassembled and repaired!!! DO NOT USE ANY SHARP CUTTING INSTRUMENTS OR TOOLS TO PRY THE REAR COVER FROM THE FRONT BEZEL OF UNIT!!!!! One slip and you will be going to the hospital "ER" to be sewed back up. Good luck with repair. 12fixlouie
inc_power, Please go to YOUTUBE and watch some video clips of how the professionals do it. Try this. "lcd monitor disassembly" and "lcd monitor repair" for starters. Be careful and do not use sharp cutting instruments to pry with or you may be making a trip to the local hospital ER to have doctor sew up the gushing wound you have inflicted upon your body. Parting the rear cover from the front "bezel" is the "key" to getting inside unit. 12fixlouie
bill, if monitor not covered by warranty, the check out YOUTUBE for long 8-12 minute video clips of LCD monitor disassembly or LCD monitor repair to find out what the major cause of your monitors SYMPTOM that you described above. Here is a small hint for you. If you didn't see the displayed data on the BLACK lcd panel with the flashlight "trick" then you would know that the entire "switch-mode-power-supply" was in complete SHUTDOWN mode or even blown the "line-in fuse" for the monitor. Also try a visit to www. ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm and view some of their vids on repair of lcd SMPS/INVERTER supplys and cold-cathode-fluorescent-lamp replacement. you have to disassemble the lcd screen, to remove that.Remove the cover, power supply with casing, disconnect the VGA connector going to lcd, then disaasemble the lcd screen. It a little bit treaky about that you have to be careful not to broken the backlight and lcd screen.
Please do not Open a Monitor, If the issue Exists with the Display Try with another Monitor ... If the same issue exist on more than one Monitor, then Troubleshoot your computer to fix it.
If the second Monitor does great then Service/Replace the monitor.
Opening the Monitor could Void the warranty if you have one upon it.
Most likely you have degraded electrolytic capacitors in the internal power supply. If you can disassemble your monitor to liik at the power supply board you might notice bulging capacitors which if replaced will likely restore normal function.
