I have a NEC e2000 laptop and i cant get the finger sensor to respond, also the windows is coming up small on screen

It would seem that a driver may be the cause which is loading during startup.
Suggest booting into safe mode by pressing F8 before laptop boots into Windows and then use msconfig to select the drivers to load at boot time.
Keep eliminating drivers until you locate the one causing the problem and then remove and check for a later verison of the driver.

NEC does not offer PC manuals online :(

Make sure you select the XP or Vista drivers thatmatch the version of Windows that is installed on the laptop.

Joelmar, you are incorrect. This model was also sold with xp, I'm typing this on one. If you still have the original Hdd and have not formatted the recovery partition, boot up the laptop whilst holding the f11 key. This will start NEC recovery and allow you to reinstall the system, drivers included. Back up first!
