Yahoo Messenger keeps logging on and off. This started happening about two weeks ago and now it is continual. What can I do to fix the problem once and for all. I am running the most current version of Yahoo Messenger with Windows XP Pro

Some times thing happens, I would suggest you to un-install the Yahoo
Messenger if you have it installed in your machine and use the Yahoo Messenger for the web, no installation is required,
you can launch it from here,
once you see the page on the screen click on start and proceed with you normal
log-in <user name> and <password>.
Your not able to log onto messenger but your able to go to your yahoo mail and log in and check it? I would just try going and downloading and reinstalling messenger if that helps. If its something on yahoos side.
First try to see that your password is correct or not. Log into mail.yahoo.com and if you
are able to login website. Then try terminating yahoo from task manager ( do ctrl+alt+del to
open task manager). Go to processes tab on task manager and search for YahooMessenger.exe,
right click and click on end process. Start yahoo messenger again and try logging in again.
If this doesnt work, you can try uninstalling and installing the yahoo again. But after
unstallation make sure to remove all the remain of files related to yahoo.
Download the yahoo messenger 10 and install a fresh one http://in.messenger.yahoo.com/download/

This is the problem of internet connection that u have. Whenever the connection is lost this kind of happens check the connection frequently. also uninstall the y.messenger and download the latest version and install other drive (other than C:/ drive)

well! some virus can't detect your antivirus it can penetrate some of your file on yahoo messenger that why it function abnormally,the present incoming worm virus are attacking mostly the attachment file w/c i read on internet three day ago.
maybe install again another yahoo messenger with the new beta version.delete your previous messenger.

To get away from errors you need to use YM8.1 Messenger "9" 1st version was in Beta (testing) form. The newest version is not, But it's not working well either. Stick to 8.1 until they work out the Bugs. Including people using 8.1 trying to message ones with 9 or reverse they are having compatibility problems; like text not showing,pictures not showing. It shuts down on Vista users , not allowing people to log in.Web cams do not always work. Many things do not work or are missing that YM 8.1 has. I think u laptop getting virus.So Do full system scan using Antivirus.Uninstall Yahoo messanger and restart it.After restarting,Once again install yahoo messanger and check it.
